We selected Winamp as one of Android's 15 best apps for 2010 because it offered wireless music syncing, music control from the lock screen, and integration with SHOUTcast streaming radio. Today, the music management service has received a number of updates that concentrate on delivering more free content.

Firstly, the app is now integrated with AOL Music's Full CD Listening Party which lets users stream the week's new featured albums in their entirety for free.

Secondly, Spinner's MP3 of the day feature has been expanded to span the last 20 days, so at any given time, users can download the 20 most recent free tracks from Spinner, or save them to a playlist and stream them.

With the last version of Winamp, support for free streaming radio service SHOUTcast was only available on devices running Android 2.2 and up. With this update, near total support for Android 2.1 has been added and that means 85.8% of Android devices are supported (based upon latest Android developer data.)

Other updates to this version of Winamp include a redesign to both "Now Playing" and the app's home screen, the ability to browse music by genre, the ability to swipe over album art to change tracks, inegration with Android's "Listen to" voice commands, and new support for both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, bringing language support up to a total of 14.

Winamp is available in the Android Market.
