Windows 10 is coming soon with new features and returning ones in one operating system. Reports unveiled that Microsoft will bring back the Start menu, include the DirectX 12 graphics API and improves several functions such as multitasking and unification of other Microsoft devices. But which issues are likely to be experienced by users once it has been released?

Update And Installation

Microsoft plans to give free major software update of Windows 10 to Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users and it is likely to be delivered by Windows Automatic Update. Users could face downloading issues and installation errors of Windows 10. Another aspect would be the constant updates every now and then designed to improve the operating system which could cause different bugs to occur such as in Windows 8. Microsoft provides support for any issue that may arise during installation.

Bugs And Patches

Bugs can occur especially during updates as the OS undergoes major overhauls. Bugs range from apps and programs errors to battery life issues. So it is recommended that users must read on how to install the OS, follow the conditions and know the minimum system requirements to avoid experiencing trouble. Blue Screen of Death or BSOD can also happen on Windows 10 and it is best to file a report to have Microsoft resolve it.

Drivers Support

Drivers are software that enables hardware functionality such as NVIDIA drivers to activate dedicated NVIDIA video cards to handle display. Checking out the manufacturer of the machine will determine on which drivers are supported by Windows 10. Another way to resolve this is to use Microsoft Fix It to automatically diagnose and fix problems on drivers.

Gaming Support

Certain games such as “The Sims 4” are currently playable on Windows 8 with 64-bit processing support. But during the early versions of Windows 8, gamers had bad experience because of compatibility issues including game freeze and crash to desktop or CTD. Windows 10 will have the compatibility support option for Windows 7 and Windows 8 to run games but it is too early to tell if modern gamers can run smoothly on the new OS version.

Hardware Support

Minimum system requirements will be the main factor for hardware support. Users must be ready for the processor clock speed, memory, video card and hard disk drive space for Windows 10 to be installed. But it does not mean purchasing a brand new desktop or laptop right away just to experience the latest Windows. Microsoft has set machines running Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 compatible with Windows 10.
