'Wonder Woman' spoilers: Showrunners' Twitter activity sparks fan theories that Arnold Schwazenegger might join the cast soon
"Wonder Woman" hits theatres in June 2, 2017
With just a few months left until Warner Bros and DC rolls out the “Wonder Woman” solo film, fans are waiting with bated breath for the highly anticipated superhero movie that stars Israeli actress Gal Gadot. While what this amazing character can do has already been teased in “Batman v Superman” and what this movie would cover has been shown in trailers, reports say that no other than Arnold Schwarzenegger might be joining the cast soon.
There is no official news whether Schwarzenegger has been cast for a role in “Wonder Woman.” However, the Twitter activity of DC Films president Geoff Johns and director Patty Jenkins had some fans wondering if he is in talks for something juicy, notes Movie Web. Johns and Jenkins have recently started following Arnold Schwarzenegger on Twitter and this fuelled speculations that he had been cast in a mystery role.
It has to be noted that the movie went through some reshoots back in November for two weeks. This could mean that this is when he had filmed his role. However, it still does not explain why Jenkins and Johns started following the actor at the same time. Maybe that could be another round of reshoots done in secret that have not been announced. As of this writing, nothing has been confirmed.
All this is just speculation and could mean absolutely nothing, Batman News points out . Considering Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic status, it could just be that both Johns and Jenkins decided to follow him at the same time. Schwarzenegger recently replaced President Donald Trump as the host of “Celebrity Apprentice.” If these rumours happen to be true, Schwarzenegger might be seen providing his voice to a role. Some say that Ares, the god of war and the movie’s main antagonist, would be a CGI character voiced by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The Twitter activity of celebrities and A-list producers would not always be the best way to predict casting news, but it has proven true many times in the past. Fans have correctly guessed that Joe Manganiello was going to play Deathstroke after several DC accounts started following him on Twitter. There have also been speculations that John Cleese will have a mystery role on “Justice League” through recent suspicious Twitter activity. As for Schwarzenegger’s rumoured casting, fans will have to wait to see if anyone from DC comments on this matter.
This is the year for DC heroes. “Wonder Woman” is set to hit the theatres on June 2, 2017. Shortly after, “Justice League” will be released on Nov. 16, 2017.
