Supermarket chain Woolworths is taking grocery shopping to another level by launching an iPhone App that boasts an aisle-ordered shopping list.

Customers can personalise the App to their local "Woolies," add items to a shopping list with a barcode scanner and access hundreds of recipes, among other functions.

Has Fakira, Innovation Program Manager of Woolworths Supermarkets, said, “We want to offer our customers a practical and easy-to-use solution that will help to improve the in-store experience and allow them to shop more efficiently.

“This is an innovative use of technology that will give our customers the ability to create a shopping list and use it to navigate around their local store all from the palm of their hand. It’s like having a personal grocery shopper in your back pocket,” said Fakira.

Key features available on the Woolworths App for iPhone include Store Finder, My Specials, Shopping lists, Product Finder, Weekly catalogue and Recipes. From today, customers can download the Woolworths App for iPhone for free by searching for the word “Woolworths” in the App Store.
