Would You Buy a Zuckerberg Selfie Stick? Australian Brand Kogan Sends Letter to Facebook Creator
Australian brand Kogan has invented a product for those who love to take pictures of themselves and are tired of awkward-looking selfies. The Australian consumer electronics company has created the Zuckerberg Selfie Stick named after Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Kogan said they called their product the Zuckerberg Selfie Stick in honour of the "creator of the go-to platform for selfies". The selfie stick features a metal rod that can extend in various lengths with a mount to hold a camera in place. The Zuckerberg Selfie Stick also has a mirror attachment to reflect what the camera's viewfinder sees.
The mirror will allow the user to angle or position the camera to capture a selfie. Other features of the Zuckerberg Selfie Stick include a non-slip handle wrapped in soft foam. It also has a quick spin knob to keep the camera secure on the mount.
The Zuckerberg Selfie Stick will benefit people who are traveling or backpacking alone and want to take a picture of themselves with a scenic background.
From Zuckerberg to Kardashian Selfie Stick
Kogan founder Rusian Kogan has reportedly sent a letter to Mark Zuckerberg and informed him of the Zuckerberg Selfie Stick. Mr Kogan invited Mr Zuckerberg to be the first to try the selfie stick. Mr Kogan said the company has been working hard in research and development to create a product that would become the "world's best way to take a selfie."
Mr Kogan continued that the Zuckerberg Selfie Stick is compatible with Facebook and Instagram. The device was named after Mr Zuckerberg to honour his achievements in creating the popular social media network.
In the letter, Mr Kogan enumerated the features that will make the selfie stick a hit among Facebook users. Mr Kogan insisted that it will be a "game changer" and more selfies will be posted on Facebook.
Presumably, the user will have to use the time function of the camera or phone attached to the Zuckerberg Selfie Stick since the person will not be able to reach it press a camera shutter or button.
Mr Kogan then challenged Mr Zuckerberg to post a selfie since it has become a global trend. He called Mr Zuckerberg the "creator of Selfie." If Mr Zuckerberg will not post a selfie he will proceed with Plan B and call the product the Kardashian Selfie Stick since she may be up to the task - referring to Kim Kardashian.
The Next Web believes the Zuckerberg Selfie Stick is just a promotional stunt.
