Brian X. Chen, from The New York Times spilled the beans on his Twitter account that the 'split-screen feature' for iOS 8 is still under work-in-progress state. Hence, there will not be a demo of this feature at WWDC.

It is worth mentioning that, the split-screen functionality that helps multitasking is one of the most awaited features in iOS 8. This feature is rumored to target Apple iPads. Nevertheless, the tweet did not say that the split-screen feature will be out of iOS 8. Hence there is a good possibility that the split-screen feature will be part of iOS 8 when it gets released. Also, the iOS 8 may get released alongside iPhone 6, says BGR.

The same Web site is quick to point out that the WWDC 2014 has not been very exciting for 'new' products thus far.

New Prototypes

According to MacRumors, the California-based tech giant Apple is working on multiple product prototypes. Peter Misek, a Jefferies analyst, says (via a research note to investors) that the prototypes from Apple include an iTV with 4K, gesture control, and voice control, and an ARM-based touchscreen MacBook Air. In addition, a 4 inches OLED iPhone that unfolds into an iPad Mini is also part of the prototype list.

It is worth noting that these prototypes are part of the Asian supply chain unit. As BGR points out, Peter Misek is a well-known Apple specialist who has good knowledge of Apple's supply chain.

The other prototypes from Apple include a smartwatch with curved-screen and several wearable gadgets. As per the report, the wearable devices include health care related gadgets and payment authentication modules.

In the same research note, Misek states that Apple is readying itself for mass production of its iWatch. He further adds that the iWatch could be launched any time. It is worth noting that, earlier reports tipped that the iWatch will be in production in July.

Moreover, the 5.5 inches iPhone 6 which is rumored to be shipment ready by November will sport a new in-cell display coating technology.
