Carlito Olivero of "The X Factor USA" 2013 is one of the Top 3 finalists on the third season of the Fox reality singing competition. Touted as the underdog among the acts who made it to the grand finale, Olivero is likely to win the competition. With the combination of his sexy appeal and graciousness, he is bound to own the stage and capture the heart of America.

Here are the top things to know about Carlito Olivero - -the “underdog” among the Top 3 Finalists on “The X Factor USA.”

His Act
Carlito is one of the ten contestants mentored by Paulina Rubio in the Boys’ Act. With a soulful rendition of Rihanna’s “Stay,” Carlito got four "yes"from the judges and he made it to the Top Final 40. His song choices have earned him a spot on Top Final 16, through the “Four Chair Challenge,” the new twist introduced by the Fox’s reality show.

His Song List
Simon Cowell told Carlito Olivero on Top 12, Live 4 that he doubted if he would be back after the show on 80s night. After Carlito's performance of "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" by Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, the British mogul expressed his doubts if he would be back the following week, noting that “he was a dancer who could sing.”

But this did not discourage the 24-year old native from Chicago, Illinois and he apparently took all the advice and feedback from the judges and his mentor. This and his determination brought him to the grand finale on “The X Factor USA.”

On Bottom Three, Not Being Safe
Of the three contestants who made it to the grand finale, Carlito is the only one who knows what it’s like and what it feels like to be on bottom chopping block. Demi Lovato told him outright on Top 12 performance night that he should go home, describing him as one who “gets lost in the middle of a performance.”

The remarks made by Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato failed to influence America against Carlito as fans still brought the hopeful back the following week. Carlito was never even on the bottom three that week.

However, the hottie, whose muscles have been adored by Kelly Rowland, landed on the bottom three twice. One, when he performed “If I Can’t Get No Satisfaction,” by The Rolling Stones in Live Show 5, Top 10 performance week, dubbed as “The British Invasion,” on Nov. 20, 2013.

Carlito was again on bottom three on Dec. 4, 2013 during the Live Show 7 performance week, featuring the Top Final 10 Acts. The judges and America was not impressed with his cover of "Let's Get Loud" by Jennifer Lopez on the first round with theme, “Divas.” He may have failed to deliver a stellar performance of the unplugged and "stripped down" Song by "Ben E. King’s "Stand by Me."

The Underdog with the “X Factor”
“Everybody loves the underdog,” so they say. Fans on “The X Factor” official page on Facebook have repeatedly shared their thoughts that Carlito “should have been eliminated a long time ago.”

It’s no open secret that Carlito also has humble beginnings. Often talking about his dad, Carlito may have won the hearts of America. The coffee server may also have touched a lot of hearts and inspired many when he tells the world that he has been sleeping in his car in an effort to make ends meet and trying to find his stars in Hollywood.

The Gossip Cop noted that Carlito has been praised for “going from underdog to finalist” on the “X Factor USA.” Demi Lovato noted that he can “win this.”

“I believe you can win this,” Demi Lovato told him after his performance of “Impossible by Shontelle and “Maria Maria” by Santana.

Simon Cowell: “I’ve really learned that I have to respect you because this is the kind of contestant I love working with. Somebody who when they’re at then bottom, picks themselves up no complaining.”

Carlito Olivero knows it, too.

I feel like America has had my back this whole competition and I have been the underdog and fought for survival the whole way. Being in the bottom two last week I definitely knew I needed to step up my game three or four times as much as I had. I just wanted to show America that I didn't take this for granted,” Carlito was quoted as saying by Latin Times.
