'X-Factor's' Demi Lovato Wanted to Be Like Rihanna
Demi Lovato may be BFFs with Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez but she looks up to another singer for inspiration. Rumour has it that the "X-Factor" judge wanted to be like RnB princess, Rihanna. What else did Demi Lovato say about her musical inspiration?
Pop princess, Demi Lovato's sudden rehabilitation brought quite a lot of negative feedback to the Disney set. A seemingly innocent girl who appeared in bright flirty dresses had suddenly been sent to rehab for eating disorders and self-harm.
"There were times where I was playing for thousands of people, and then I'd get on my tour bus, like, 'What can't you just be happy? What the f*ck is wrong with you? It was a relief to be like, 'Oh, my God, it's not me, it's my brain,'" stated Demi in her Rolling Stone interview.
Apparently, Demi despite looking happy in photos was victim to cyber bullying. Haters condemned Demi for her weight while some called her ugly on various social networking sites. "Lovatics" would be surprised to hear that Demi had been suicidal at the early age of 7.
"The principal called my parents and made me sign this suicide contract saying that I would not kill myself. They weren't expecting that so young,'" explains Lovato.
However, all of that is a thing of the past for Demi Lovato whose career has been going nowhere but up since leaving rehabilitation. While "Heart Attack" may be a long way from Demi's first album, Lovato couldn't help but dish on her musical inspirations for her third album which was a mix of hip hop and RnB.
"I wanted to be like Rihanna. But I had to learn that wasn't me," said Lovato.
Thankfully, Demi has found her own place with regards to making music and her "Lovatics" love her for it. Currently, Lovato is quite busy promoting her latest single "Heart Attack" and being a bugger to Simon Cowell's life in "X-Factor."
Obviously, things are going well for Lovato and fans are hoping nothing but the best for her. As for Demi's former Disney friends, "Semi" fans are praying Demi Lovato does make an appearance at Selena's upcoming 21st birthday.
