Fans anticipating to see a preview of “X-Men: Apocalypse” will be happy to know that the trailer is soon to be released. It’s reported that the preview will be tied in with Ridley Scott’s new film “The Martian.” Meanwhile, Simon Kinberg has addressed those rumours of Taylor Swift appearing in the sequel as Dazzler.

Sources have informed Heroic Hollywood that the release date for the first official trailer of “X-Men: Apocalypse” will be on Oct. 2. It will reportedly be attached to the screenings of “The Martian” although there’s no mention whether it will be played after the movie airs or before. No other details are provided on whether the trailer will be released in all cinemas screening “The Martian” or in selected theatres only. According to the site, it’s also likely the trailer will be revealed online first before it makes its theatre debut.

In related news, Simon Kinberg has denied speculations that Taylor Swift will be appearing in the “X-Men” sequel. MTV News caught up with the writer/producer at the Toronto International Film Festival and quizzed him on Swift’s rumoured “Dazzler” role.

“No, there’s nothing to it. I know where [the rumor] came from, because it’s my fault,” Kinberg told MTV News.

Kinberg then explained how the rumour started after some of the “X-Men: Apocalypse” casts watched Swift’s concert in Montreal. Apparently, Simon is a huge fan of the singer and when he heard that Taylor was performing in Montreal, where filming for the sequel was also reportedly done, he took the chance to watch her show along with Nicholas Hoult (Beast), James McAvoy (Professor Xavier) and Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert).

“So we went to the show, me and those people, and then she invited us to come back and meet her afterwards. It was just a photo backstage at the concert, and that was the only time we ever saw her. That’s where that particular rumor came from,” Kinberg explained to MTV News.

According to Comic Book Movie, this is not the first time that a singer was rumoured for a role in an “X-Men” film. Matthew Vaughn reportedly once considered British singer and songwriter Sarah Harding for “X-Men: First Class." As for “X-Men: Apocalypse,” Kinberg thought it was “kind of interesting” learning about those rumours of Taylor Swift’s role as Dazzler but confirmed once and for all that they “were actually just there for her concert” and nothing more.
