Xbox One News: Big Plans for Launch, DRM Rumours Shot Down and 'Halo 5' to be Part of Episodic Franchise?
Microsoft has a lot of big plans to get the hype going for the Xbox One, and one of it even involves sharks and a tank.
With the PS4 just a sleep away from gamers' grasps, the launch events for the Xbox One have been announced, spearheaded by the Spike TV launch airing at 8 pm PT (11 pm ET) come Nov 21, Thursday night, reports Joystiq.

The launch will also be aired on Xbox.com or Xbox Live and it will be on a global scale. On the official Xbox newswire, it details the fan celebration in New York, which will involve the Times Square being the arena to the world of Xbox One games, meaning zombies, race cars and Roman soldiers will come alive at the Best Buy Theater until fans get to have their consoles when midnight hits.
"Today we invite millions of Xbox fans around the world to join us for the launch of Xbox One, beginning on Nov. 21 as we count down the final hours to the launch of Xbox One," said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate VP of marketing and strategy at Microsoft's Xbox.
This launch is said to be the biggest global launch to date, with other events lined up for Los Angeles, Sydney, Toronto, Paris, Berlin, Sao Paulo, London and Vienna. Some of the retail partners will also be giving away freebies as part of the launch.

New DRM Rumours no More: Microsoft Clears the Air
The lucky (or is it unlucky?) guy who was one of the first to get their Xbox One consoles, Twitter user Moonlightswami, has started quite a stir about the Xbox One, as it hails pre-E3 rumours regarding DRM.
Another rumour brewing on Microsoft's headquarters is not only a new candidate as CEO but also some very big plans for the future of MIcrosoft, Xbox and Bing: Read more here.
According to OXM, a rumour that spread at NeoGAF is that Xbox One could not play "Call of Duty: Ghosts," despite the day one download that he has already done. This led to some users to believe that the Xbox One actually needs DRM, like it had originally announced months back, for the console to play.
However, Microsoft's Albert Penello has already confirmed that Moonlightswami did not download the Day One update, hence the inability to play the game. "When we launch, console will work exactly as you expect today on 360. For sure this has nothing to do with requiring a connection. There is no 'DRM removal' in the Day One update because none of the consoles were ever built with that stuff in it," he said to OXM.
So there you have it---still no DRM on the Xbox One. Too bad for those who got the Xbox One early, as it seems that they can't really play games on it yet.

'Halo 5' Direction Revealed in Ad Listings?
"Halo 5" has been one of the most anticipated games coming to Xbox One, yet 343 Industries and Microsoft have not revealed any more details about the game, except that it's coming to the next-gen console.
However, DualShockers has found a couple of job listings for 343 Industries, which have been linked with the "Halo" franchise, providing some clues as to possible details of the game and its future.
According to the report, some of the positions being advertised include that of a producer, software development engineer and character or AI designer. What's more interesting is that the job requirements have mentioned "future episodic storytelling," specifying the need under the "Halo" franchise.
The software development engineer will be in charge of delivering "Halo" to other platforms (possibly a surprise for PS4?) as well as of making the game compatible with Azure, Microsoft's cloud power.
Given all that, the question now is exactly how "Halo 5" will play out in this scenario. Will it feature a unique multiplayer compared to its predecessors? Will the cloud allow for integration with other platforms like Windows Phone 8? Of course, that's if the rumours on the Xbox division being sold off if Microsoft's CEO issue is resolved in one particular way.
One of the more interesting launch events, however, is the use of sharks and a tank, which The Verge reports is how the first Xbox One to be sold in New Zealand will be shown off. The console is basically submerged in an aquarium and guarded by the sharks. On the night of the launch, the first Xbox One recipient will be presented with this particular console.
