After unveiling the Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro in January, the Chinese tech giant, also known as Apple of China, is apparently gearing up to release the successor of the well-received Mi4 dubbed, the Xiaomi Mi5. In addition, there is a beefed up variant of the Mi5, named Xiaomi Mi5 Plus, under development.

Unlike the Xaoimi Mi Note series of phablets, the Xiaomi Mi5 comes with a relatively pocket-friendly display. Plus, the Xiaomi Mi5 release date is apparently set for July 2015. According to latest news, the configurations of the upcoming Xiaomi handset have reportedly been leaked. Here is a comparison of the rumoured specifications and features of the Xiaomi Mi5 and the Xiaomi Mi4.

Xiaomi Mi5 vs. Xiaomi Mi4: Reported Specifications And Features

The Xiaomi Mi5 will reportedly come with a cool 5.2-inch display and 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution, whereas the predecessor Xiaomi Mi4 features a 5.0-inch display and 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution. Under the hood, the handset is believed to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, alongside either a 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM configuration, says Gizmo China. Meanwhile, the predecessor is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 3 GB of RAM.

When it comes to camera specification, the Xiaomi Mi5 will reportedly sport a good 16 MP rear-facing sensor with LED flash, while the Mi4 settles for a 13 MP unit. In addition, the front-facing shooter of both the devices is a gracious 8 MP sensor, guaranteeing killer selfies. As far as the battery configuration goes, the upcoming device will flaunt a 3,000 mAh unit, while the Xiaomi Mi4 features a 3,080 mAh unit. Unlike the Mi4, the Xiaomi Mi5 will apparently come equipped with a fingerprint sensor.

Moving on to the memory specification, the Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to come backed with 32 GB of in-built storage. The Xiaomi Mi4, meanwhile, comes with 16 GB and 64 GB storage choices. In any case, both handsets do not support microSD card slot for further expansion. Similar to the Xiaomi Mi5, the alleged bigger sibling, Xiaomi Mi5 Plus, will also be launched in July, says GSM Arena. However, readers should note that the Chinese tech titan has not confirmed any of the Xiaomi Mi5 specifications or release date thus far.
