Zen Studios Announces New ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Table
Fans craving some intergalactic pinball are about to hear some possible good news. Zen Studios, the game developer that brought fans many video game pinball tables including “Star Wars Pinball,” have announced a new video game pinball table based on the popular animated television show on Disney XD, “Star Wars Rebels.”
The “Star Wars Rebels” pinball table will be available on April 27 and will feature a good number of characters from the animated series. A report from Eurogamer has confirmed that the “Star Wars Rebels” table will be available for Zen’s series of Pinball video games such as “Pinball FX2,” “Zen Pinball 2” and of course, “Star Wars Pinball.”
Fans of the show will be happy to know that the game will feature seven missions, which will have a good number of the show’s roster team-up with the player to take down the empire. One aspect fans might eat up is the fact that all the starships, including the Ghost and TIE Fighters that have proven to be incredibly popular in the Star Wars lore, will be fully animated, as noted by the PlayStation Blog.
To those unaware, “Star Wars Rebels” is a brand new animated show in Disney XD that takes place after “Star Wars Episode 3,” but before “Star Wars Episode 4.” After the events of Episode 3, there is a 20-year gap before “A New Hope,” and fans will be able to find out what happens in that long gap by watching the show.
It’s clear that Disney wants fans to be hyped for this year’s “Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens,” the first major “Star Wars” film since Episode 3 was released. Along with the Zen pinball tables, various “Star Wars” games are also set for release this year like the rebooted “Star Wars: Battlefront” and several expansions for the MMORPG “Star Wars: The Old Republic.”
The “Star Wars Rebels” table will be available in all major platforms that have any of the aforementioned pinball games made by Zen Studios. This means it will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC and various iOS devices.
