‘Zoo’ Season One at Comic-Con: New Sizzle Reel, Episodes 2 & 3 Recap And Spoilers
“Zoo” on CBS was presented at San Diego Comic-Con on July 9, 2015. The network provided a sizzle reel and acknowledged the recent outrage from PETA regarding the live use of animals.
The new drama show premiered on June 30, 2015 and is based on a novel of the same title authored by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge. The story revolves around a global outbreak of wild animals attacking humans.
Fans were looking forward to learn about zoologist Abraham “Abe” Kenyatta’s fate after the lion attack. Spoiler TV revealed that Abe survived the attack, as shown in Episode 2, even after being mauled by five male lions who also killed his cousin and other tourists before. In the pilot episode, titled “First Blood,” Abe and his partner discovered a camcorder at a campsite which featured people running for their lives. Their further investigation unveiled a stranded tour bus with bloodstained windows. Oz discovered that the lions were killing to hunt, and not merely to feed. The episode ended with a large lion entering the bus behind Abe.
In the second episode of “Zoo,” titled “Fight or Flight,” Jamie Campbell and Mitch Morgan tried to learn more about the connection between the Los Angeles Zoo and a chemical coming from a biotech company. They witnessed the unique behaviors of the cats they found on a tree. The sole survivor of the tour bus lion attack, Chloe Tousignant, planned to return to Paris and her work as a government intelligence analyst. She was still trying to recover from the horrific experience. Oz bid her farewell but Abe will interrupted before Chloe can give her number.
In the third episode, “The Silence of the Cicadas”, which aired on July 14, 2015, Oz and Kenyatta flew to Japan to recover the remaining research findings of Oz’s father. Jamie convinced Mitch to go with her in Louisiana to present their findings about the abnormal behaviour of the zoo lions to a senator. Chloe was recruited by a mysterious intelligence agent when she returned to Paris. A wolf invasion happened in a Mississippi prison, resulting to the escape of a death row inmate.
