Now that Google has finally unwrapped the candy bar KitKat or Android version 4.4, device users on the mobile platform wonder when will ever they get the new operating system, vanilla or skinned.

Thanks to 9to5Google, the wait seems not too long at least for those who currently own any of Nexus device models, which naturally would have first access to the upgraded mobile OS, next to the now sold out Nexus 5.

Check out below for the supposed confirmed KitKat recipients and the amount of time they will need to stand by before the chocolate bar gets unloaded:

Nexus 4 - as expected, the handset that the Nexus will bump off as Google's flagship phone will have an extend life cycle, courtesy of course of the new KitKat. No definite schedule was provided by Google on when the Nexus 4 is chewing in the hottest candy in town but it should be in the few weeks ahead, likely no later than end of November.

Nexus 7 2013 - the likelihood is Google will first upgrade the present crop of Nexus devices so Android fans should expect the latest Nexus 7 to be powered first by KitKat then the 2012 7-inch Nexus slate should be next in line. Of course, a simulataneous for both gadgets could not be totally ruled out.

Nexus 10 2013 - Google says its full-sized 10-inch tablet will be coming out of the box with the new Android setting and it will happen in the coming weeks. That should mean release date of the purported iPad Air rival is happening within November. Shortly thereafter, the KitKat update file for the 2012 Nexus 10 should be in the Google upgrade pipeline.

The Motorolas

Next to the Nexus toys, Google is only expected to unleash KitKat via its another gadget house - Motorola.

The first receiver, of course, would be the Moto X, which according to reports is garnering raves from tech experts and consumers alike. First thought to be the Nexus 5, the device debuted with Jelly Bean 4.2.2. However, it is believed that the mobile phone will skip Jelly Bean 4.3 altogether to be wrapped in the full KitKat glory, an event that should occur quite shortly.

Also pegged to be sweetened soon enough are the following Moto prides: the DROID Ultra, the DROID Maxx and the DROID Mini. Users of these powerful toys should experience what KitKat is capable of real soon.

The branded Google Play editions

Still in the in-house realm, Google will reportedly soon dispatch KitKat to the Google Play flagship smartphones that were released July this year. That would mean the HTC One GPE and Samsung's Galaxy S4 GPE. Per 9to5Google, waiting time should be no more than 15 days beginning in Nov 1.

It is highly possible that Android 4.4 for these handsets will issued at around the same time the Nexus 10 2013, built by Asus, will go live on Google Play Store.

KitKat for Samsung and HTC

As soon as Google is done sprucing up its own backyard, the company should turn its eye on Android-based smartphones and on top of the list should be the upscale phones made by Samsung and HTC - the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One.

According to 9to5Google, these devices will be bumped up to Android 4.4 with the next 90 days. The safest bet for KitKat to rule these smartphones should be January 2013, which is the earliest. Note that other top brand and models like the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3 and the Sony Xperia lines were not specifically mentioned in the report.

Nonetheless, these hot-selling Androids will soon be morphed into the KitKat form, which is designed after all to inhabit as many Google-powered devices as possible.
