12.9-inch iPad Pro Arrival Delayed To 2015, Production Of Larger iPad Affected By Strong Demand For iPhone 6
In the recent past, we had reported that Apple is rumoured to be working on a larger tablet called the iPad Pro. The tablet is speculated to feature a 12.9-inch displays screen. Apple has officially sent invitations for the arrival of iPad Air processor which will be held on Oct 16. Many were expecting that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro would be unleashed on the same day but according to Wall Street Journal the larger iPad is in the works and may arrive in the coming year.
WSJ claims that the Cupertino company is mainly concentrating on building the new iPhones that sport larger displays compared to all the previous iPhone models. Meeting the strong demand of the new iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus phablet has become the top priority for the company. Hence, the company is most likely to push the iPad Pro release date to 2015.
According to WSJ, the iPad Pro was supposed to arrive in December this year. The publication claims that one of the suppliers have told them that it is difficult for display manufacturers to arrange resources and time to build large-sized iPad now.
The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus was showcased to the world on Sept 9. Preorders in the US started on Sept 12 and both the handsets were made available in ten countries on Sept 19. Within three days of release, Apple announced that they managed to sell 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units.
On Oct 17, the iPhone 6 models are expected to the Chinese markets. On Oct 16, Apple is also rumoured to launch iPad Mini successor and iMacs. As of now, Apple has not confirmed anything on the iPad Pro.
Nothing much has been known on the iPad Pro specifications and features. Apart from the 12.9-inch large display, the iPad Pro is heavily speculated to feature a power efficient A8X 64-bit processor that will deliver faster performance. PhoneArena states the Apple Watch is posed to release in 2015. Apple may use the same or different event to showcase the iPad Pro in 2015.
