Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a big smartphone/tablet device which can be uncomfortable with one hand. So if you are planning to buy Galaxy Note 3 for the holiday sale, check out the tips to make it comfortable and friendly to use.

One Hand Usage

The 5.7-inch of display screen is the big deal for Note 3 which features HD and immersive resolution but it can be difficult to be used by one hand. Go to "Settings > Controls > One-handed operation" to selective turn on keypad, keyboard, calculator and unlock pattern using one side of the screen. You may also use the "Use for all screens" option to shrink down and resize the down so you can drag it wherever you desire.

Two Windows at the Same Time

Multi-Window feature becomes an advantage when you need to view two apps at the same time such as Email and Browser. Enable it by going to "Settings > Device > Multi window" or from the notifications shade. You can also create custom combinations by selecting the grey arrow at the bottom of the app list.

Hands Free Checking

Wave your hand over the Note 3 to wake up the screen to see alerts, missed calls or notifications. Quick Glance feature needs to be enabled for this to happen, go to "Settings > Controls > Motion control > Air gesture > Quick glance."

Find Anything Easy

Search something on your phone can be very easy with Note 3, simply hold down the "Menu" key then select the "S Finder" then type in keywords and use filters to narrow the field.

You capture screenshots via three ways on the Galaxy Note 3 and all of them are working accordingly.

1. Hold down the "Home" and "Power" keys at the same time.

2. Go to "Settings > Controls > Palm motion > Capture screen." Now swipe your hand from right to left on the screen.

3. Hold down the S Pen on the screen to get a screenshot.

Quick Toggle Access

Pull two fingers instead of one to view all quick toggles from the notifications shade.

Remote Control

Maximise the Galaxy Note 3 by using it as a remote control over TV sets, cable boxes or even DVR. Use the WatchOn app and follow the procedure such as selecting the country or region, entering zip code and choosing supported devices.

Maximising the S Pen

Use the S Pen to bring apps on the screen. Once you take out the S Pen, select the "Pen Window" among the various options from the pop-up menu. Draw a box on the screen then select an app to fill it. Moreover, you can also activate the "S Pen Keeper" from the settings to ensure you don't lose the pen.

Voice Controls

Enable voice controls from "Settings > Controls" to get hands-free treatment on calls, alarms, picture taking or music playback. The feature also allows reading of messaging and reply back with just your wave.

Blocking Annoyance

Use the "Blocking mode" found in "Settings > Device" to create white list of contacts you want to get notifications or alerts during quite time. Blocking mode feature is very useful during a good night's rest.

Quick Call or Message

Swipe left to send a message or swipe right to make a call to someone inside the Contacts app. It also works inside the Messaging app.

S Pen Instead of Typing

You may use handwriting recognition instead of typing messages or text on Galaxy Note 3. Hover the pen over an area till a little box appears with an S Pen logo then tap that to launch the handwriting window.

Small Window for Incoming Calls

You can create a small pop-up window for incoming calls instead of having it on full screen. Go to "Settings > Device > Call > Incoming call notifications." It is ideal if you don't want to be interrupted by an incoming call.

Display and Sound Customisation

Use the "Adapt Sound" and "Adapt Display" to fit your tastes on Galaxy Note 3. Go to "Settings > Device > Sound > Adapt sound > Follow instructions" and "Settings > Device > Display > Screen mode > Adapt display."

Hurrying Notes

Enable instant notes in a hurry by going to the "Settings > Device > Lock screen > Action memo on lock screen" to allow the S Pen to hold down on the button and double tap on the screen to bring out memo window and write down thoughts quickly without unlocking the device.
