Samsung's upcoming 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet will reportedly rival Apple's iPad Pro and Microsoft's Surface tablets. Having recently secured its RRA certification, the Galaxy View is expected to be released very soon.

Sales of tablets have gone through a marked decline, according to Tech Times. Now that this information has been established, various tablet manufacturers are consistently trying to find new ways to make their latest devices even more appealing to entice potential buyers.

One tactic that has proven to be successful is increasing the size of the tablet. The Cupertino-based tech giant had recently unveiled its 12.9-inch iPad Pro alongside the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. Rumours about this particular device had first made its rounds all over the Internet in May 2014.

When the iPad Pro was finally unveiled to the public, it was apparent that Apple may have gotten its inspiration from Microsoft's Surface line of tablets. For instance, the newly released Apple Pencil and iPad Pro Smart Keyboard have some very close similarities with Microsoft's Surface Pen and Surface Keyboard.

Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 is also expected to come out with a 14-inch touch screen display. This device will be launched sometime in October this year, according to various reports.

It must be noted though that Samsung is known for using larger and unconventional displays in order to rump its opponents. It was revealed during the Korean company's September IFA event that the Galaxy View will feature an 18.4-inch screen. However, there are no news yet on the release date of the device.
