Rumours of the Galaxy S5's February 2014 release date continue to flare up with a new report insisting that the Galaxy S4 successor is a gadget in steroid thanks to a 64-bit Exynos processing chip and a capacious 4GB of RAM.

This according to Gotta Be Mobile, pointing to Korean online news site DT as its source.

True, the 64-bit gadget flavouring is nothing new to crow about as the iPhone 5S and iPad Air allowed Apple to beat Samsung to the race but providing so much RAM for the next Android big thing raises the bar for global smartphone rivals.

By doing so, Samsung is nudging its upcoming here phone to the level currently ruled by traditional computing tools. In short, as early as the first quarter of 2014, mobile devices will have the same or near-capabilities of laptops and desktops.

That would mean, productivity is one of the prime functionalities of the Galaxy S5, aside of course from its mainstay features of allowing users to stay connected and entertained while on the go.

It will be an Exynos 6 CPU that is on board with the GS5 come launch time, the same report said, though it was unclear if Samsung intends to build and deploy its 2014 flagship using only its in-house processing chip expertise.

Note that the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 are being distributed this year in different builds, with more markets getting a taste of the Snapdragon 800-flavoured GS4s and Note 3s.

If indeed Exynos will be the sole powerhouse under the GS5, it would mean that Samsung has finally resolved the nagging issues that hampered the mass production and implementation of its own chip architecture.

The main reason cited for Samsung's use of Snapdragon chips, made by Qualcomm, on its high-end devices is production concerns.

And now that the GS5 is nearing realisation, other rumoured features of the gadget are gaining traction, foremost of which is the form-factor, which according to numerous reports will take on the same build of the Note 3.

In short, the Galaxy S5 will remain a plastic-wrapped expensive smartphone but with a touch of luxurious appeal due to its faux-leather back cover.

Also, the next-gen Galaxy device is whispered to flash a 16MP main cam shooter, ably equipped with Samsung's ISOCELL technology, which promises the production of better quality images and clips.

The Galaxy S5 is set to stand on the fresh mix of TouchWiz and Android KitKat 4.4 or whatever latest build of Google's mobile platform.

Sammy watchers would want to believe that the Galaxy S5 release date is happening on February 2014, earlier than the previous flagships models and many months ahead of the rumoured iPhone 6 debut on the third quarter of the same year.
