The rumoured specs are flooding in following confirmation from Samsung that arrival date for its third high-end phablet iteration, the Galaxy Note 3, is on September 4.

Almost immediately, whispers of power features for the device started flowing in and one of the latest is that in terms of CPU might, the Note 3 will easily outmuscle its Samsung sibling, the upscale Galaxy S4 that was unwrapped in March 2013.

This AnTuTu benchmark result was based on a Note 3 variant that draws its power from a quad-core Snapdragon chip that hums away at a top-speed of 2.3GHz. It is no secret that the mighty phablet is coming out in two servings and the other one will strut with an 8-core Exynos Octa 5 chip processor.

And all these details only signal one thing - that this oversized Samsung creation is a monster in the making, able to meet almost the taxing demands and requirements of users - average and the power kinds alike.

Perhaps to top the incredible menu that the Note 3 will let out soon, it is no stretch to pray for the power features below, which are based on new rumours and facts that came out this week.

Super Battery for the Note 3?

A leaked picture hit the web this week, purportedly showing the Note 3, without a back cover, revealing a huge battery that occupies more than half of the unit. Looking at the image, the component configuration and design suggest that what was presented is of Samsung Galaxy pedigree.

But in closer scrutiny, the pic also bared of a boxy device build, which contradicts earlier claims that the upcoming phablet is a virtual GS4 clone - both in looks and mostly in features. Besides, it is doubtful that Samsung would revive the form-factor following the success of the curved build that was introduced and exploded via the 2012 flagship Galaxy S3.

Notwithstanding, massive battery is a welcome addition to the Note 3 which should complement the reported energy efficiency that comes packed with the new screen panel technology and the mix of Snapdragon and Exynos chips that the device will use. For sure, millions of users would be elated by the promise of longer operating hours for the headlining Android phablet.

Unlimited (almost) internal memory

The smartphone industry has come a long way since the first iPhone and Android handsets came out. We're seeing faster CPU and larger screen with eye-popping resolution yet somehow some units, specifically the entry-levels, still offer the 8GB storage configuration, which is big letdown for many users.

For sure, this modelling will be a thing of the past soon and one solid proof is Samsung's unveiling of the 3D Vertical NAND flash memory technology. In using this new storage system, smartphone makers will soon be able "to stack up to 24 layers of 16GB storage on top of each other in a chip not much thicker than existing ones," BGR News reported the Galaxy device maker as saying in a press release.

Soon enough, mobile devices - smartphones and tablets - will deliver a maximum storage capacity of 384GB, which is virtually limitless in the present context. While it is unlikely that the Note 3 will quickly get this upscale feature, maybe Samsung will deliver the capacious memory space in future batch of the Note 3 shipments.

As mentioned, we'll have to wait until Sept 4 before the official look and features of the Galaxy Note 3 are known to the world. It is expected that Samsung will push for a late September or early October release date for its latest phablet baby.
