2 Killer Motorola Moto X Voice Command Tricks: Whistle To Wake Up Moto X And Post Facebook Status Hands-Free [Watch Video]
The 2014 Motorola Moto X with upgraded specifications and amped-up display size is the successor of the 2013 version. Even though there are many new features in the latest device, Motorola still included the popular voice command feature. The company has upgraded the voice command and made it more useful with improved user experience, when compared with the last year's version. Here is a list of two tricks specific to the voice commands of the Moto X.
In the latest device, Motorola has utilised gestures and touch-free voice commands as an integral part of the user experience. It is worth noting that this unique selling point of the Motorola Moto X smartphone has not been replicated in any other device from Samsung, LG or HTC thus far, points out BGR.
Power To Switch-On Voice Command Without Saying A Word
In the 2014 Moto X, the touch-free voice command option gets even better because of the power to turn-on the feature without having to utter a single word. This can be achieved by making changes in the Moto Voice settings, similar to setting up any other voice command. However, when the user is asked to provide a launch phrase like "OK Google," "Listen Up Moto X," "Wake Up Moto X" or "Hi Moto X," instead of giving a phrase, users can "whistle" a short tune. And this tune will become the Moto X owner's voice command there-after. Watch the cool video uploaded by Droid-Life explaining this interesting feature: [Scroll down to watch the video.]
Post To Social Networking Sites Hands-Free Via Moto Voice
As readers now know the Moto X users can whistle to their handset to wake up the device, time to move on to other Moto Voice functionalities. There are a total of four major apps in the Moto X namely Moto Actions, Moto Voice, Moto Assist and Moto Display. With the latest Voice app, many third party apps like Facebook and YouTube, among others, can integrate with Moto Voice. In specific, the 2014 Moto X users can post status updates to Facebook and send messages via Whatsapp. Say for example, users can say "Play YouTube" to trigger YouTube app and "Post to Facebook" to update a status in Facebook. However, the number of apps supported by Moto Voice is quite limited. Eventually, though, this app is expected to support more third party apps, says Engadget.
