2013 American Music Awards Miley Cyrus: Liam Hemsworth Inspired Miley's Weird Cat Performance at the Awards Show? [PHOTO]
Miley Cyrus had the 2013 American Music Awards viewers talking again over her weird cat performance on Sunday night, November 24, at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The latest reports circulating on the former Disney star claim that ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth inspired the AMAs performance with the giant cat projected behind.
It seems that the 21-year-old singer still thinks about the Aussie actor a lot despite ending their romantic relationship in September. According to the Entertainmentwise report, Miley's unnamed friend revealed that the cat-themed performance came from Miley and Liam's favorite pastime during their happy times as a couple.
Additionally, "Wrecking Ball" was reportedly Miley's song about her relationship with the "Hunger Games" star. "Miley and Liam used to watch funny videos on YouTube together all time, especially cute cats and dogs and animals," Miley's friend shared to Hollywoodlife.
The insider further added: "Miley came up with the cat video for her American Music Award performance a while ago. She saw this hilarious rendition of a cat known as the Keyboard Cat impersonating her in a homemade "Wrecking Ball" video and fell in love with it. The cat, a red tabby, is swinging on a wrecking ball, licking the sledgehammer and playing piano."
Another anonymous source claimed that Liam, 23, remains cordial with Miley after the split but keeps his distance. "The recent contact he has had with her was to wish her Happy Birthday but that is about it," the source revealed.
In the Showbiz Spy report, Miley Cryus insists that people's opinion on her controversial appearances at different award shows does not bother her. "I never worry about what I do on stage making me look bad. I think people if they actually knew me would be surprised at how normal I am," the singer stated.
Ms Cyrus further added that every time people talk about her, it brings her more awareness to herself and even her records. "I feel like [I am] socially probably more acceptable than a lot of people in this industry because I've just always grown up around this and so I never have any kind of attitude. If you have good songs I think you can wear anything or do anything, just be able to back it up by what you're doing," Miley explained.
