As always, Day 7 of the 2013 US Open Tennis Championships has been packed with a lot of intense pressure and amazing triumphs, all captured best in pictures.

There were straight set triumphs for Serena Williams and Andy Murray with the defending champions in good condition. Coach Wayne Bryan shared with BBC Radio 5 live sports extra that Ms Williams was "just too good" in the offensive sense. Her opponent though still got a wide round of applause for three big wins Sloane got for this year's tournament.

Ms Williams even took the chance to thank a fan who was cheering for her. She insisted that it is still important for her to stay calm and relaxed all the time. She is set for the last eight to face Carla Suarez Navarro, who on the other hand, has beaten Germany's Angelique Kerber.

It is definitely the game of Williams which became one of the best that was witnessed by everyone during the US Open since both female players were ripping the tennis ball like men.

Andy Murray also stood out sweeping through the rounds with so much ease that it seemed no other player can beat the pro's confidence. He also never failed to put in his signature moves to some of the balls during the game and he is set to play next against Andreas Seppi or Denis Istomin.

As a quick recap, Day 7 included the following momentous happenings:

Serena Williams won over Sloane Stephens, with defending champion winning 6-4, 6-1

Murray won over Mayer with 7-6 (7-2), 6-2, 6-2, defending champ into the 4th round

Novak Djokovic and Li Na for the night session games
