2014 Google Nexus 7 Tablet: Asus vs LG vs HTC, Specs and More
Google always plans ahead. Perhaps that is the reason why despite the recent release of the Nexus 7, reports about the 2014 edition started springing up already. Nexus devices always make it a habit to deliver excellent features without asking for high prices. This very factor sustains the interest of the market over the product line. So what does Google have in store for their 2014 Nexus 7?
One of the most interesting topics about the 2014 Nexus 7 is who will Google tap to create the product. The third generation Nexus 7 deal is a great deal because the first two generations were a success. Some sources say it will still be Asus.
There is no point in hiring another contractor if the original developer made the two generations such a success. Google do not have to gamble anymore if they will go for Asus. Asus has the experience and ability to deliver a similar product.
However, the likes of LG, HTC and Lenovo may have their chance. LG already got a contract for the Nexus phone. A tablet counterpart is not as impossible. According to analysts, creating a slate counterpart will make the Nexus line more coherent. It makes sense to create homogenous products similar to Apple.
The compatibility will be better. LG slate and phone can deliver a truly Google and Android experience.
Similar to the first and second generation Nexus 7, the market should not expect clear-cut or detailed information until the last minute. Google has a habit of surprising people until the launching. Analysts and tech sources are just forecasting the next move of the tech giant similar to other companies.
One report said, LG's G Pad 8.3 appeared to be a test run of something major. It can be the next Nexus 7 in the works but analysts are left only to speculate. Analysts are still not convinced about HTC because the company has not proven itself worth in the tablet arena. Their smartphone still needs more improvement.
LG and Asus remain the top contenders for the 2014 Google Nexus 7. People will have to wait for Google's official announcement.
