2014 Play! Pokemon Season Starts on Jan. 11, 2014: TCG and VG Winter Regional Championships Round 2

The 2014 Play! Pokemon season officially starts on Jan. 11, 2014. This includes the Trading Card Game (TCG) and Video Game (VG) Winter Regional Championships Round 2. The 2014 Play! Pokemon season will be held in five locations around the U.S. on the weekends of January 11, 18 and 25, 2014. Participants get to win amazing prizes including trophies, booster packs, travel awards for a trip to the 2014 Pokemon National Championships and the 2014 Pokemon World Championships in Washington, DC and nearly $200,000 in travel allowances.

According to the Pokemon Web site, the Pokemon Winter Regional Championships is the second big event in the 2014 Play! Pokemon season. The Regional Championships allow players to compete for the title of Regional Champion. It is part of a title-event championship series.

This is a really fun event especially for Pokemon fans. Interested players just have to show up at one of the events with a legal TCG or VG team and that's it. They can enter the Regional Championships. Best of all, they can play all day!

Pokemon tournaments make sure that players can play in every round of Pokemon event until the finals are determined by using Swiss-style pairings.

The Pokemon TCG Winter Regionals will be held on Saturdays and the VG Winter Regionals on Sundays. Registration for the VG events will be done in the early morning, so make sure to come at the VG venues early. Check out the schedule below to see when and where it will be held.
