2014 Tablet Round Up: Asus Transformer Book Trio, 12-inch Samsung Monster Tablet & LG Optimus G-Pad
Tablets have earned a monster share of the mobile device market like smartphones. Predictions or forecasts also say that these portable devices will continue to dominate sales compared to traditional computers. The list counts down some of the most anticipated slates of 2014. Can they deliver like their predecessors?
Asus Transformer Book Trio
Another Asus transformer will be appearing in 2014. The device will feature a dual processor that will reportedly "surpass" standard notebook, tablet or desktop capacities. The slate will have an 11-inch display and will be on an Atom processor. It will also reportedly run on Android 4.2.2 but this can change depending on Android's latest update and release.
Other reported features include 64GB flash storage, Windows 8, 1TB hard drive storage, 4th generation Core i7-4500U and bigger battery. Sources also say Asus has been working on 11.6 and 13.-inch Taichi convertibles, PadFone 2, 7-inch FonePad and 6-inch FonePad FHD 7.
Samsung 12.2 Tablet and Note 10.1
Samsung has always sought to diversify. This explains the multitude of sizes and editions of their smartphones and slates. The company has perhaps put out every imaginable size. This time, the company is aiming for a 12.2-inch monster tablet.
The monster tablet already made its appearance on the Bluetooth SIG database. The slate was dubbed as the Samsung Mobile Tablet (SM-P901). Leading leak source @evleaks has also hinted about the device. The model range will be around 12.2 inches running on Samsung's eight-core Exynos 5 chipset. The tablet will feature the S Pen stylus plus 2560×1600 resolution display.
As reports say the P900 series already went through Bluetooth verification. This means Samsung only needs to release an official announcement about the product. Until the Korean tech giant confirms it, then people will have to wait.
Samsung will also reportedly release Galaxy Note 10.1 this October.
LG Optimus G Pad
According to several sources, people will be seeing the latest 8-inch LG Optimus G-Pad. It is not yet clear whether LG will make the announcement on Christmas or it will start shipping by then. As the date nears the end of the year, the tablet will most likely hit stores or hit majority of the markets across the globe by 2014.
