Prince George has now been transformed into a life-size cake. British baker Lara Clarke of Tasty Cakes has spent 30 hours crafting the sponge statue that stands at just under 3ft (approx. 91cm). The cake is on display at the 2015 Cake International competition in Birmingham, England.

The 29-year-old Clarke has been participating in the bake-off since the past three years and said she was “delighted” to win a gold award for her royal creation. The cake recreated the toddler wearing red shorts and white shirt with matching embroidery and a peter pan collar which he wore to the christening of his baby sister Princess Charlotte in July. The cake shows the little prince with his chubby cheeks, People reported.

Her royal masterpiece has received mixed response after pictures began circulating on social media, Independent reports. Some Twitter users have even branded the cake “creepy” and “disturbing.”

The last three years also she walked away with the gold awards for her cakes of actress Jennifer Lawrence and Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow from the “Pirates of the Caribbean.” The baker, who hails from Walsall, West Midlands, said that the feedback from the judges were very good.

However, the judges told her that they wanted to see what she could do on a smaller scale. Clarke said that when the cake was life-size and put on the table, the smaller details of the face and other aspects could not be seen properly. “I thought I’d do a child. He’s the most famous child in the world and especially cute as well and very, very current,” the baker said. She took to Facebook and shared a picture of the cake.

There were more than 1,000 competition entries on show from cake decorators from across the globe. Rose Macefield from Coseley, in Dudley, created a Jurassic Park inspired scene with a giant Tyrannosaurus Rex’s head emerging from a jungle. There was also a gravity defying creation from Christine Jensen of Penzance in Cornwall which saw Star War’s Yoda controlling a levitating cake, BBC reports.

Emma Jayne Morris from Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taff in Wales made Angelina Jolie’s character from the film Maleficent. Clarke has mastered the art of over-the-top cakes. Some of her past creations included Hogwarts, a guitar and amp, and even a keyboard piano.
