Formula One, or F1 racing currently travels to 19 countries across five continents. In 10 days, the second racing tournament of the current season will take place at the Sepang International Circuit at Sepang, Malaysia from March 27 to 29. Here, we give you a few pointers of what you might want to know about the 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix.

The Sepang International Circuit first hosted an F1 race in 1999. This year marks the 17th year that the grand circuit will play host to the highest level of motor racing.

First Practice Session: 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Second Practice Session: 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Press Conference: 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Drivers’ Meeting: 5:00 p.m.

March 28

Third Practice Session: 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Qualifying Session: 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

March 29

Grand Prix (56 Laps/120 Minutes): 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Tyre Allocation

Italian firm Pirelli will bring hard and medium tyre compounds in Malaysia. The orange-marked hard and white-marked medium will be the toughest and the most robust for the high temperatures at Sepang Circuit.

TV Broadcasters

Network Ten and Fox Sports are the official TV broadcasters of the 2015 F1 season in Australia. Thre three practice sessions will not be put on air. However, the Grand Prix race will be aired live except for the qualifying race, which may be delayed depending on timezones.

In 2014, Hamilton and Rosberg put Mercedes on pole position as well as Vettel, who was still representing Red Bull then. Hamilton dominated the race to win his maiden Malaysian Grand Prix title. Behind him were Rosberg and Vettel at the second and third places, respectively. Hamilton remains a favourite this year at the 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix after his victory at Albert Park.

John MacDonald holds the record of the most number of wins at Sepang with four (1970, 1971, 1973, 1975) followed by Michael Schumacher (2000, 2001, 2004), Fernando Alonso (2005, 2007, 2012), and Sebastian (2010, 2011, 2013), with three wins each. Raikkonen is a two-time champion at Sepand, having won the title in 2003 and 2008.
