The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date is more likely set on September 2014 - that is if Samsung will stick to its existing calendar for the original phablet.

In the case of the Note 2 and Note 3, the South Korean tech giant has opted to use the IFA gadget showcase in Berlin as launch platform and Sammy fans are eyeing the same event to get a first glimpse of the 2014 refresh.

Coming out of the box, basing on the latest reports, are supposedly the fresh Note 4 features below, two of which are allegedly hinted by a top Samsung executive:

Bendable 3-sided display panel

GSM Arena got wind of the possibility that Samsung will finally unleash the flexible display panel that was first attributed to the Galaxy S4. Weeks before the GS4 debut in March 2013, the company showed off its YOUM display technology via the CES 2013 in Las Vegas and the move was then interpreted as pointing to a big GS4 feature.

YOUM, however, skipped the GS4 and the Galaxy as well but there is chance that the more durable screen will be outed in time for the Note 4 unboxing and per the same GSM Arena report, it will be a 3-sided render that highlights the device's optimal usability.

That would mean users can also enjoy and navigate though the Note 4 screen in various angles apart from the conventional way.

New phablet form-factor

With the advent of a new display material for the Note 4, Samsung allowed too the likelihood of an entirely new design language for the device. Company VP Han-kil Yoon told Reuters that by the time of the Note 4 rollout in the second quarter of 2014, consumers can certainly expect a new form factor.

But Yoon stopped short of providing specifics, implying only that the sequel for the Note 3 represents Samsung's aim of finding "a breakthrough in the stagnant premium market."

He also teased of an irresistible Galaxy Note 4 by stressing that "our ultimate goal is to make products that consumers really aspire to have."

The beast within thanks to high-end hardware

Inside of what is shaping up as a sleek and sexy Note 4, it also appears that Samsung is making sure that the device will become a beautiful monster as well. According to BGR, the handset will boast of premium hardware - inside and out.

The display resolution will be 2K at least with the viewing window getting a slight bump up from previous build that measured 5.7-inch. The application processing chip is likely in 64-bit class, which is either the latest Snapdragon CPU or Samsung's Exynos. There will be more built-in storage plus higher RAM provision, possibly reaching the 4GB mark.

Galaxy Note lovers are also expecting the same IP67 certification that the Galaxy S5 came with, meaning like some of the 2014 flagships, the Note 4 will be able to repel dust and water.

On its release date, poised to happen anytime in Sept 2014, the Galaxy Note 4 will powered by the latest combo of Android, likely build 4.5, and Samsung's TouchWiz skin.
