The 2013 Apple flagship, the iPhone 5S, and its bigger sibling, the 5.7-inch iPhone 6, are likely capable of capturing clips and images with superior quality, detect water intrusion and a much-improved Siri on release date.

These exciting features are unveiled this week via the iOS 7 beta 3 release and freshly-approved Apple patents, which are briefly discussed below.

New iOS 7-fuelled camera prowess

The new camera feature for the two handsets was spotted by those currently trying out the third beta release of iOS 7, which according to 9to5Mac is called Mogul. When in use, this application will allow users to record video clips at 120fps, ensuring of crisp and clear moving images, though the resolution remains unknown at the moment.

In addition, the feature also delivers slow-motion option for all iOS 7-powered devices. It is noteworthy to note, however, that these shooting menus have been introduced earlier this year by Samsung via the Galaxy S4, BGR News said in a report.

Water-exposure detection for iPhones

The second feature is about Apple's new patent, recently approved, which touches on the ability of iOS devices to detect unwanted water intrusion. While this invention is originally intended to protect Apple from consumer abuse, according to Patently Apple, the technology points to possible gadget enhancement in the near future.

By installing water sensor on iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, users gain a killer protection feature - that is being forewarned of a likely harmful liquid intrusion on their expensive handsets.

Better Siri plus voice dictation bump up

As reported earlier, Siri, the popular iOS digital assistant, is getting a major make-over thanks to iOS 7. Aside from taking male and female voices, this iPhone PDA will sport a significant speed up in the form a more efficient voice dictation feature, which in the upcoming iPhone models is also available offline.

Such major tweak, according to Gotta Be Mobile, should boost Siri's capacity to deliver A1 performance - both in quality and speed. For instance, "offline dictation would allow Apple to show users the result of dictation as they go, rather than at the end of a sentence or paragraph," said the same GBM report.

Adding more language support and trimming down the application size are some of the improvements that need to be done and this feature should be ready to go for the final iOS 7 build.

Apple is expected to release its new mobile OS by September this year, coinciding with the purported iPhone 5S release date on the same month. The iPhone 6, meanwhile, is set to debut by Q1 2014.
