The debate rages on when actually the iPhone 6 release date is though the prevailing bet among analysts is the 2014 arrival would be earlier than last year's iPhone 5S.

In the past two years, Apple had issued its flagship phone in late September and there is no reason to believe that the tech giant will deviate this year or at least push for a later rollout of the next iPhone.

Q3 2014 unveiling is good business move

As opposed to waiting until the 2014 holiday season, releasing the rumoured iPhone 6 between July and September will redound to good business for Apple, analysts said. It will hurt the company to wait much longer as many consumers might be tempted to seriously the Android competition instead of holding out any further.

If October is the appointed debut date for the 5S sequel, the flagships from Google, Samsung, Sony, HTC and LG would have enjoyed considerable head-start. And according to experts, the bunch of 2014 Android flagships would be hard to resist - some are cheaper and more powerful than the iPhone 6 - especially in the absence of an inviting Apple contender.

Apple's release cycle fits Sept outing

Plus, pushing out the next big thing from Apple this 2014 on September suits with the iPhone maker's existing release cycle anyway. It is assumed that by September, the required bulk shipment for the iPhone 6 global distribution would have been fulfilled as earlier reports have indicated that starting in May, volume production of the device would commence.

So there would be no supply or other troublesome issues to attend the iPhone 6 availability in September as these concerns will be efficiently covered by Apple. The company, after all, is only implementing a plan that was tested with the iPhone 5 and 5S with some minor modifications.

Ming-chi Kuo says iPhone 6 will surface in Sept or Oct

Backed by his unblemished record in terms of forecasting Apple's product plans and moves in the past, Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities declared last week that there will be a new 4.7-inch iPhone in the third quarter of 2014.

Apple fans should wait between late September and early October as Kuo ruled out any possibility of an earlier 2014 iPhone unboxing. Such possibility, the analyst added, is reserved to the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, which should come out anytime in July or August of the same year.

However, Kuo allowed that there will be a Q4 2014 iPhone 6 release date - that is for the 5.5-inch phablet version, which likely will get unwrap around Christmas time.
