"Plants vs. Zombies 2" has still not yet been released for the public to enjoy, and, if mere video gameplays and Crazy Dave transmissions are no longer enough to appease your appetite for some tower defense gaming strategies, here are five games that you can turn to as practice.

Note that these games range from Xbox 360 titles, PC and even app games, so if you have access to all of these devices, this is a great way to kill some time before PopCap Games finally releases the anticipated sequel.

'South Park's Let's Go Tower Defense Play!'

An old classic for the Xbox 360, "South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!" is a pretty straightforward game, and one that has been satisfying South Park fans sine it was first released in 2009.

Developed by Double Six and published by Microsoft Game Studios, XBLA Fans reported that the game is one with a pretty impressive quality given the limitations of a tower defense game.

Not only do you get a very solid South Park feel in the game but you also have a game that is packed with challenges spread out in its 11 levels, five challenges, 20 enemies, and eight towers.

According to the report, you also have 81 videos in the game, and, as a player, you can choose to play as anyone of the 15 playable characters. The good thing here is that each character--including the quartet Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny; Butters Clyde; Craig; Pip and more--has a specific power range, including move speed, throw rate, range, damage and a special move.

In other words, with each character, there is a chance that your gameplay can change, making it a game that you can do over and over again. Reviews from several sites and sources were all praises for the game, something that is an achievement in terms of the South Park franchise for games.

'Plant This!'

PC gamers who first tried "Plants vs. Zombies" on the PC and who would love to play another PC tower defense game would love "Plant This!"

Also, an old favorite title, "Plant This!" is more of a defense game than "Plants vs. Zombies." Instead of having plants that fire at zombies (who also have a structured path to go through), you are required to created a barrier using plants and flowers to slow down the creepers led by the gopher and keep them from destroying your garden.

The stages are challenging enough, all 50 levels in three difficulty modes, and even the bosses would keep you glued to the game while scrambling your game at the same time.

You can purchase the game now at Big Fish Games as it is offered at 70 percent off for only $2.99. What's more, you can even download a free trial and try it for an hour.

'The Creeps!'

From Super Squawk Software LLC, this app is available for free on the iTunes, and it has been downloaded 3 million times since it was released.

Basically, what you have to do is defeat the Creeps, which are monsters going bump in the night.

According to its iTunes page, the game features 11 free levels, 7 free Thanksgiving themed levels, 7 free 4th of July-themed levels and 5 free bonus levels.

There are also 30 levels of three different level themes and gaming modes. And since it has a Game Center support, you can easily go online for the leader boards and seek out 60 achievements.

Then again, this is a free-to-play but freemium app, with in-app purchases ranging from 30 dinosaur-themed levels and battery-themed levels, to 22 other themed levels like Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween and Christmas levels.

'Toy Defense'

A fairly new game now available for the Android from Melesta Games, "Toy Defense" tests your defense strategies and tactics as you are tasked to defend your base from waves of enemies.

This is a game of survival, as the enemies will keep on coming, and your main task is to survive for as long as you can towards victory, and you will be at the helm of the army that defends your own territory.

At the same time, you also have the chance to compete with family and friends in weekly tournaments.

The game features 84 levels, upgradable units and armory, and four features in your arsenal to keep your defense going, which include repairmen, resurrection (to revive your ruined tower so you can battle it out once more), squashing (to help your army squash the enemy by tapping) and protective barrage to crush the enemy with a blast wave.
