The iPhone 6 release date remains on course in the fourth quarter of 2014 with the introduction likely to take place as early as September of the same year loaded with fresh killer specs and features that were practically confirmed by a new report.

Known for his spot on predictions involving iOS devices in the past, KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo shared anew his crystal ball visions this week and for the next iPhone, he forecasted a fall arrival for the handsets - yes, there will be two versions to wow the millions of Apple fans.

A regular iPhone 6 will be on hand soon sporting a 4.7-inch screen profile plus a phablet version that bears near-identical capabilities save for its bigger screen, which according to the KGI analyst will stretch to 5.5-inch.

What the devices can do is wholly dictated by the components residing inside and Kuo is upbeat on the likelihood, per an Apple Insider report, that with the new iPhones, Apple will clear up to 60 million units by the end of 2014, somehow assuring of another blockbuster year for the tech giant.

And Apple has the following confirmed iPhone 6 specs and features to thank for in possibly luring multitude of buyers later in the year:

A8 chipset

As reported since last year, Apple will jump from A7 to A8 chip in building the 2014 iPhones, MacRumors said in a report, adding that likely source for the 64-bit powerhouse is TSMC with a little help from Apple rival, Samsung.

1GB of LPDDR4 RAM

Pointing to his reliable supply chain sources in Asia, Kuo revealed too that Apple sticking to 1GB of RAM provision for the iPhone 6, using the latest LPDDR4 technology. This somehow ensures that the lack of RAM number upgrade this year will not compromise the overall iPhone performance.

The chance is high too that Apple will finally ditch the 16GB basic iPhone model and in its place, the company will offer the welcome 32GB model, the KGI analyst noted.

Slimmer build and less screen bezel

The upcoming iPhone screen will certainly be upsized but the general footprint is getting the scale down treatment, its thickness whittled to as much as 6.5mm from the 7.6mm-thin iPhone 5S.

On the front panel, previous rumours of an all-screen iPhone 6 appears to hold water as Kuo claimed that the bezels surrounding the viewing windows are further pushed to the edge, giving up some 20 per cent more of margin from the 5S.

Optimised for one-hand navigation

Apple may have decided to abandon the 4-inch screen standard that dates back to the iPhone 5 but the company remains adherent to one-hand use for the next-gen iPhone, in keeping with the philosophy embraces by Apple CEO Tim Cook.

As such, the sleep/wake control sitting on top of the device will be relocated to the side, making it easier for users to reach the button without resorting to two-hand use.

Higher screen resolution and pixel density

With the iPhone 6 getting its much-awaited screen size upgrade, the display resolution and pixel per inch (ppi) rendition will of course get the corresponding bump ups. For the regular size, Kuo expects a 1334 x 750 Retina display prowess with 326ppi. The phablet iPhone, on the other hand, will showcase a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution with 401ppi.

The new display attributes is fully synched with the iPhone 5S, MacRumors said, which eliminates the need to rework the screen rendition of apps developed for the iPhone 6.

Other key upgrades mentioned by Kuo for the October 2014 iPhone 6 release date are the following: an enhanced Touch ID, sapphire glass/coating, 8MP rear cam with f2.2 aperture and optical image stabilisation, near-field communication (NFC) connectivity and up to 70 per cent more of operating hours due to a larger battery pack.
