5 Confirmed Killer Features for iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 Based on iOS 7 Beta 2 Release
Apple's iOS 7 Beta for iPad went live this week, providing a preview of the reengineered mobile OS will look and feel come the separate iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 release dates later this year.
What came out on Monday intends to enhance the overall iOS experience, which according to Apple will be extended to iPad owners, from the second generation to the fourth, including the iPad Mini, the fifth iPad build and the rumoured iPad Mini 2, with or without Retina.
While some of the new iOS features and functions will be restricted to specific iPad models, five of them will surely be deployed across the board, with the iPad Mini 2 and the iPad 5 as chief device carriers of these fresh iOS 7 capabilities.
Brand new iPad look
A cleaner user interface is the main offering of the iOS 7, according to Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, supporting Jony Ive's aim of de-cluttering iOS devices, which in effect is giving emphasis on iPhone and iPad features.
This upgrade is manifested in the new device icons that highlights the simpler iPad look but with astonishing power behind the easier gadget skin.
More Siri options
Siri just got an upgrade and this PDA can be a he or a she, depending on users' preference. Initially available for iPad owners in the United States, this helpful iOS tool has assumed a more realistic human voice that somehow convinces users are intelligently interacting with someone that has flesh and blood.
Multitasking
No there are no multiple windows in a single screen on iPad yet but Apple cooked up something that is equally cool. With iOS 7, users are presented with a card of apps in fullscreen rendering, enabling to peruse and switch to a specific application. This is the closest that users can get to tablet multitasking, at least for now.
Improved Safari browser
Apple's in-house net surfer is no Chrome and Firefox, not yet anyway, but the iOS 7 build is much better than in previous versions. Safari this time is faster, probably more stable, and offers more premium features such as the ability to securely sync with sensitive details such password and credit card info, which are intended to facilitate safer online shopping.
Revamped iPad Control Centre
A number of Android-inspired functions are thrown in with iOS 7 and one them is the pulling up of the Control Centre with a simple screen swipe. This addition allows users to easily toggle on device settings minus the hassle of having to go through circuitous routes.
One bonus is the Notification Centre's Today Screen, which like an Android widget delivers real-time updates on news, weather and even stock movements. The tool can also be synced with the device Calendar to issue reminders on meetings and personal milestones like birthdays and anniversaries.
