Apple's 2012 flagship phone, iPhone 5, is about to make its way in the market very soon and take the world by storm.

According to the recent report of research and analysis firm IDC, Samsung surpassed Apple in the recent quarter in terms of sales and market shares. Samsung sold a total of 50.2 million units and reached a new quarterly smartphone shipment record in a single quarter. What remains to be seen is how the company's smartphones will fare against Apple's next-generation iPhone expected later this year

"Samsung and Apple have quickly become the global smartphone heavyweights though both employ somewhat different approaches to the market," said Kevin Restivo, senior research analyst with IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker.

"Samsung employs a 'shotgun' strategy wherein many models are created that cover a wide range of market segments. Apple, in contrast, offers a small number of high-profile models. While both companies have expanded their geographic presence in pursuit of market share, the two companies will inevitably come into greater conflict as both try to generate additional gains," Restivo quickly added.

However, Apple is expected to make a counter attack on its rival with the introduction of its flagship phone- iPhone 5. The smartphone should be able to close the widening gap that made by Samsung Galaxy S3.

Below are some of the suggestions that we hope Apple considered and integrated in the upcoming iPhone 5.

Intensified Security - Smartphones like iPhone have been part of our daily lives. We log in important personal information using our smartphones. Some companies even choses Apple to be their company phone. Thus, there is a dire need for stronger security in iPhone.

Environment-Friendly Features - Going green seems to be the future of the tech world. More and more companies are incorporating environment-friendly features to devices that attract consumers. Apple should explore this aspect more and consider things like wireless charging through solar charging.

Sturdier Screen Glass - One of disadvantages of iPhone's design is its screen glass that breaks easily. Apple should be able to improve the Gorilla glass of Apple to make it sturdier and resist breakage.

Connectivity - Samsung Galaxy S3 is already equipped with 4G/LTE capability. iPhone 5 is speculated to be having this same feature. When iPad 3 was released earlier this year, it had problems when its advertised that 4G/LTE connection as one of its main features but found out that it was incompatible in the 4G network in some countries like Australia. Faster connection is an asset of any device as users always go for and power of their gadgets.

Longer Battery Life - One of the problems of Apple devices is its battery life. Apps really turn out well when you use Apple devices. However, using too many apps eat up the battery life of the gadget. Thus, it will be a great advantage if Apple can improve the current battery life of iOS devices like iPhone.
