5 iPad Air 2 Features That Consumers Will Most Likely See Next Year
It is still too early but iPad Air 2 features are already surfacing.
Apple unveiled the refreshed iPad line last month at a launch event held on Oct. 22. iPad Air was announced alongside iPad Mini with retina display and MacBook Pro as well as the roll out of OS X Mavericks.
The new iPad Air is thinner and lighter compared to the previous iPad 4. The device has narrower bezel just like the iPad Mini. iPad Air retained its 9.7 inches retina screen display and included the 64-bit A7 processor and M7 graphics chip that were first packed in the iPhone 5S. The tablet is pre-installed with the latest iOS 7 and boasts longer battery life of up to 10 hours with extensive use.
iPad Air becomes available for purchase on Nov. 1. At the Apple Store, it is offered for $499 with 24 hours shipping to consumers in some countries such as in Australia. In the U.S., all models of the device are listed as shipping by Nov. 4.
Below are some of the iPad Air 2 features that consumers will most likely see next year.
Sharp's IGZO Retina Display - iPad Air 2 may include an improved Retina display with the aid of Sharp's IGZO technology.
A8 Processor - The current iPad Air packs an A7 processor with 64-bit architecture. The next generation of iPad Air may pack the successor of A7 processor with faster processing.
Better Camera - The iPad Air may finally include an iSight camera with higher megapixel in the next generation of iPad Air. We will not be surprise if the company will pack an 8 megapixels rear camera and 2 megapixels Facetime camera.
iOS 8 - Apple updates its operating system in a yearly basis to include some of the tweaks for new features that will be included in its devices. Since new hardware and features will most likely come in Apple's new device, the company will surely release the iOS 8.
Fingerprint Sensor - Apple skipped the inclusion of Touch ID fingerprint sensor in the new iPad Air as the feature is currently dedicated to iPhone 5S. However, the iPad Air 2 will most likely include this feature.
