Here are five successful, if not the most successful drivers in the Formula One history.

1. Michael Schumacher -- 7 Drivers' Championships

In 2006, Michael Schumacher was dubbed statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen. His rise to greatness started in a team he that raced from 1991 to 1995. During his final season with Benetton, he won the first two of his seven Drivers' Championships and then shortly after, he was immediately snapped by Scuderia Ferrari. Schumacher dominated Formula One and won the Drivers' Championship from 2000 to 2004. Schumacher holds a number of Formula One records that includes five consecutive titles, 91 race wins, 155 podiums and 68 pole positions.

2. Juan Manuel Fangio -- 5 Drivers' Championships

Juan Manuel Fangio nicknamed El Maestro won five Driver's Championships between 1950 and 1958 and his record stood until Schumacher claimed his 6th Driver Championship in 2003. He acquired his titles as drivers of Maserati, Mercedes, Ferrari and Romeo. Apart from his 25 race wins, 29 pole positions and 35 podiums, Fangio maintains the highest career winning percentage in Formula One.

3. Alain Prost -- 4 Drivers' Championships

Alain Prost is undoubtedly one of the greatest Formula One drivers, when he moved to Formula One from Formula Three in 1980. He won four Driver's Championships, three of which from McLaren and one from Williams. His title with Williams in 1993 was noteworthy because he acquired the victory after taking a year off in racing.

4. Sebastian Vettel -- 4 Drivers' Championships

Sebastian Vettel started his racing career in karting and then he moved to Formula BMW and Formula Three. While he's with Red Bull in the year 2010 through 2013, Vettel claimed every Driver's and Constructors' Championship. He is also the youngest Grand Prix wimmer at the age of 21.

5. Ayrton Senna -- 3 Drivers' Championships

Ayrton Senna's career flourished when he moved to McLaren in 1988. He claimed 3 Driver's Championships in the year 1988, 1990 and 1991 and was considered as one of the greatest Formula One drivers. Unfortunately, his booming career was cut short when he died in a car crash during the San Marino Grand Prix in Italy.
