5 Things Buyers Can Do Before iPhone 6, iPhone 5S Release Date on Sept. 10
Apple recently confirmed the long-rumoured iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S release date on September 10.
Apple already sent out invitations for the launch event. In less than a week, buyers can do a lot of things before the next iPhone will arrive.
First, this is the time you can buy previous models of iPhones and iPads cheaply, as Apple Store and third party retailers and resellers slashed the price of the previous Apple devices.
The iPhone 5 is usually priced at $199. However, Wal-Mart slashed its prices for the iPhone 5 and offered the 16 GB version of the handset for $98 with a renewed contract with any U.S. network (AT&T, Sprint and Verzon). The company also offered the iPhone 4S for $39 with a new contract.
Retailers RadioShack and BestBuy also offered $50 and $100 off on all iPhones, respectively. T-Mobile slashed $50 off on the iPhone 5 with a 24-month lock-in period. However, in BestBuy, consumers must avail the company's trade-in program.
Consumers can also take advantage of the iPhone Trade-in Program. Apple has launched its new trade-in program that will allow Apple users to trade their old iPhones in exchange for credit that can be used in buying the upcoming iPhone. Apple users can get as much as $280 worth of credit from the trade-in program.
Interested iPhone buyers can also try to sell their old iPhones online. Apple users can try selling their devices at eBay or Amazon. Some users can get a better deal on these websites compared to the credit they will get from trade-in programs.
Interested iPhone 6 buyers can also get familiar on the new and latest iOS 7 and iPhone features before they get the next iPhone. The upcoming iPhone 6 will come pre-loaded with iOS 7.
The iPhone 6 rumours claimed that features will include a quad core A7 processor with 3 GB RAM, NFC support, 13 megapixel rear shooter, up to 128 GB internal storage and longer battery life. It is also speculated that Apple will include a larger screen display of up to 6 inches.
Meanwhile, the cheaper iPhone is expected to feature specs of the iPhone 5 like 4-inch screen display and a dual core processor. Users can take photos with 8 MP back camera. All of these are housed in a low-cost plastic casing and will come in various colours.
