Adam Devine writes ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ on his Instagram story
Adam Devine (Bumper) has teased fans on Instagram about his possible return to “Pitch Perfect 3.” The actor has posted a story on the social media platform and wrote “Pitch Perfect 3” across the screen in bright pink letters.
In his Instagram story, the actor sings “On the Road Again” from the backseat of a moving car. He was seen sporting a casual look. Whoever is filming the video can be heard laughing in the background.
The actor's tease on Instagram somehow gave fans nostalgia of his portrayal of Bumper in the franchise. While some fans may hope that his character along with other Treblemakers will be back in the threequel, some may be disappointed to learn that the male group is no longer coming back.
Devine’s Instagram story, shared by the Hollywood Reporter, features farms as background. It confirms that he is not with the “Pitch Perfect 3” cast members who are currently filming in Atlanta.
The Treblemaker has also starred in Comedy Central series “Workaholics” and “Adam DeVine's House Party.” He is also part of “Modern Family” as Andy Bailey, the boyfriend of Haley Dunphy.
Skylar Astin (Jesse) has previously shared that he and the rest of Treblemakers will not be coming back for “Pitch Perfect 3.” “Yes. As of now, the Trebles and I won’t be in the third Pitch Perfect movie. They seem to be taking the story in a different direction,” Astin wrote on Twitter.
Fans of the “Pitch Perfect” franchise would remember the Treblemakers as an all-boy a cappella group at Barden University. They grabbed the win for International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella six times before they lost to the Barden Bellas.
Although the Treblemakers are not coming back for the third film, fans can rejoice as main cast members will be back on screen. Anna Kendrick (Beca), Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy) and Hailee Steinfeld (Emily), Chrissie Fit (Flo), Kelly Jakle (Jessica) and Ester Dean (Cynthia Rose) will be reprising their roles for the upcoming movie. “Pitch Perfect 3” will introduce new faces too, such as “Timeless” actor Matt Lanter and rapper Trinidad James. Even “The Crown” star John Lithgow is set to join the film.
James’ role is as a member of an a cappella group that will compete with the Barden Bellas. It sounds like his group will be the replacement of the Treblemakers. The characters of Lanter and Lithgow, on the other hand, are still being kept under wraps.
Fans can see more of the Barden Bellas when the film hits the big screens. The threequel is under the direction of Trish Sie, who has taken directorial reigns from Elizabeth Banks. “Pitch Perfect 3” is expected to hit Australian theatres on Dec. 22.
