‘Pitch Perfect 3’ casts ‘Timeless’ star Matt Lanter

“Pitch Perfect 3” has cast “Timeless” actor Matt Lanter, one of the breakout stars of the new NBC drama series. The role that he is going to play in the third film of the franchise is still being kept under wraps.

Lanter gets the chance to work alongside “Pitch Perfect” returning cast Anna Kendrick (Beca), Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy) and Hailee Steinfeld (Emily). Chrissie Fit (Flo), Kelly Jakle (Jessica) and Ester Dean (Cynthia Rose) also return with the others. It will be interesting to see what role the actor will play in “Pitch Perfect 3.”

Since the Barden Bellas is an all-female a cappella group, it is unlikely that Lanter's character in “Pitch Perfect 3” will be joining their team. But it is possible that his role is that of a Bella's love interest. Previously, the actor has played as Liam Court in CW teen drama series “90210,” a spinoff of the '90s Fox series “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Lanter has also joined Bravo's reality show, “Manhunt: The Search for America's Most Gorgeous Male Model.” Although he did not win the competition, fans could agree that the actor makes an ideal heartthrob.

Lanter has starred in TV series “Star Wars Rebels” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” as Anakin Skywalker. He also played on films, including “Disaster Movie,” “Sorority Row,” “Vampires Suck” and “The Roommate.” His involvement in the third “Pitch Perfect” film was first reported by Variety. The actor is currently represented by UTA, Emerald Talent Group, and Stone, Genow, Smelkinson, Binder & Christopher.

“Pitch Perfect 3” is under the direction of Trish Sie, who has taken directorial reigns from Elizabeth Banks. Banks directed “Pitch Perfect 2.” Screenplay is written by Kay Cannon with drafts from Mike White and Dana Fox.

Banks will be part of the threequel as recurring character Gail, a commentator for the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. She co-produces the film alongside Max Handelman (Brownstone Productions) and Paul Brooks (Gold Circle Entertainment).

Rapper Trinidad James is also cast for the upcoming film. His role is as a member of an a cappella group competing with the Barden Bellas. Even “The Crown” star John Lithgow is set to join the film. His role in “Pitch Perfect 3” is being kept under wraps.

Fans can see more of Matt Lanter when the film hits the big screens. “Pitch Perfect 3” is expected to hit Australian theatres on Dec. 22.
