Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine's new blonde look stole the spotlight on "The Voice" Season 6 last Monday night, May 5. Coaches Blake Shelton and Usher targeted Adam's blonde hair and gave hilarious comments and comparisons with only Shakira defending the "Sexiest Man Alive" by claiming that blondes have more fun.

According to the Taste of Country report, Blake Shelton found the opportunity to make fun at his "bromance" partner on the show. The 37-year-old country singer mocked that he thought for a second it was actress Meg Ryan who was sitting with them at the panel that night.

Blake continued to throw funny comments on Adam's new look like comparing it with Miley Cyrus and fitness guru Susan Powter. "Both my wives are blonde now," Blake Shelton further joked after the show.

As for Usher, the singer compared Adam Levine's blonde look to the Bruce Willis character in the film titled "The Fifth Element." Adam, 35, did not give any reason during the show on why he suddenly changed his hair colour.

The "Moves Like Jagger" singer revealed that he just woke up one day and thought he wanted to look like fellow coach Shakira. "My mom hates it. I kind of felt like that would happen," Adam shared.

Blake Shelton even gave his buddy an advice that he will have to pick a hair colour and stick to it. Adam Levine responded with the colour blue and exclaimed that he will be a Smurf next week.

Thousands of fans have expressed their confusion and disapproval on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter over Adam Levine's blonde hair. Majority claimed that they want the dark-haired Adam Levine back.

However, Adam Levine claimed in the Today Entertainment report that he honestly don't care and need people to like his new hair colour. The singer stated in a backstage interview that he would want all of those who criticized him online to walk up to him and say the same thing that they wrote to his face to show real courage.

Even though Adam Levine has been receiving negative comments on his blonde hair, "The Voice" contestants expressed their support for the singer's bold move. "You know what, high-five to him for rocking that hairdo," contestant Kristen Merlin, also sporting a blonde look, said to TODAY backstage after performing her rendition of Lee Brice's "I Drive Your Truck."

Kristen further added that Adam's transformation may be a shock to everyone but she still praises the singer for rocking that look. Contestant Josh Kaufman revealed as well to TODAY that he was initially uncertain if Adam's blonde look was going to be OK but changed his mind after seeing it. Mr Kaufman thinks Adam looks cool with the new hairstyle and "The Voice" coach can do anything he wants and just get away with it.
