Public display of a female celebrity's backside is just one side of the coin. The flipside is showing to the world their frontal assets, whether it is only partially by the use of peek-a-boo top designs that tease with ample views of cleavages and breast sides and undersides to full topless shots.

It turned out that Wednesday's talked-about butt cover image of reality star Kim Kardashian shows just one side of the celebrity. She also just displayed the famous mammary glands that provided baby North West her first nutrition in the same November issue of People Magazine, Eonline reports.

The big question now is would comedian Chelsea Handler allow Kardashian to get all the public attention with her epidermal exposures or would she also do another selfie and compete with Kardashian for more clicks?

Eonline reveals that the photo shoot for the People Magazine article was done in November by lensman Jean-Paul Goude who described Kardashian's butt as voluptuous backside.

"Kim went into the shoot with just the one cover image in mind: the champagne pic, because Jean-Paul Goude wanted to recreate his pic he took 30 years ago," the entertainment Web site quoted its source, who added that the two had a great time, ordered everyone off the set - including the publicist and magazine executives - and came up with shots that are currently the toast of town.

It confirmed that Kardashian's sheen comes from a special oil that makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic sprayed on her body.

Other celebrities may be content with just taking selfies - so long as it doesn't get hacked and leaked - of their breasts and other body parts, but given the opportunity they would also expose some parts of their bosom through dresses or tops that allow the public more generous display of their cleavages or side or inner breasts.

The New York Post cited the case of Fappening victim Jennifer Lawrence who was dressed in a white gown for the London premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part I. The daily described her Thierry Mugler gown as a "barely there halter top."

It cited that even movie actresses who were once considered modest in their clothing are joining the trend, citing Amy Adams, Vanessa Hudgens and Olivia Munn.

The daily described the Prabal Gurung outfit that Adams wore to a 2013 premiere as a swoop neck piece that made her look like an exhibitionist beside the buttoned-up Olivia Wilde.

Celebrity stylist Robert Verdi explained that the breast-baring is part of the game that female celebrities play on testing the limits of how much they could be naked while remaining clothed.

Media expert Dr Paul Levinson, a professor of communication and media studies at Fordham University and book author, said the mammary glands show is not a case of overexposure but a "necessary exposure."

Topless images are one way of competing for media attention which often translates into higher income such as Kardashian who is estimated to have earned between $25 million and $35 million, following the reality star's Vogue cover in April, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

However, another celebrity stylist, Logan Horne, warned that extremely low necklines could invite the wrong kind of attention, saying, "Unless you have a somewhat minimal chest or a good boob job, it's pretty tricky to pull off."

The exception, of course, would be very daring reality stars like Kardashian, who despite what many critics describe is short on talent, is bouncing her way to the bank, thanks to her "treasure chest."
