The tech industry last heard of Goophone when it announced a clone device of Samsung Galaxy S5 barely two days after Samsung unveiled its flagship phone, and that gave an "aggressive" impression to many. Goophone is set to surprise everyone again with another clone, this time of an unveiled device, the all-new HTC One.

The next flagship of the Taiwanese phone maker HTC is yet to be announced come 25th of this month, but it seems that it already has a clone. Chinese manufacturer launches Goophone M8, a smartphone that has an uncanny semblance to the undisclosed all-new HTC One.

Goophone M8 comes with capacitive keys though, in lieu of on-screen buttons on the real one. It is packed with a MediaTek octa-core 1.7GHz processor, 1GB RAM, Android Jelly Bean 4.2, 13MP rear-facing camera and 5MP front-facing one. Goophone M8 has a 5-inch 1080p display. Unluckily, it only has 3G speed.

The clone is good but many doubt if its specs could even scare HTC a bit. The knockoff device does not come close to the original thing. It copies HTC One successor's appearance and its being an Android handset - but it all ends there. Goophone M8 is a mid-range unit, while the next generation HTC mobile is designed to be a specs-beast.

The Chinese firm usually targets those who love the latest design but are keen in saving some amount; or those who travel abroad and want their mobile device to have that "cutting-edge" look, but at less risk of carrying a costly item.

Goophone M8 is priced at $230 only. Yes, its appearance is in gold, and for those who only care about design, they might want to also save some cash. The Goophone can be ordered online.
