Alleged Sony Xperia Z4 With Model Number PM-0780 Clears FCC: MicroSD Card And Non-Removable Battery Confirmed, 6 Variants Listed
In the run-up to the Sony Xperia Z4 release date, the rumours and leaks have compounded in the past few weeks. However, until yesterday, Sony’s 2015 flagship device did not pass though the FCC. But now, a new report states that, the Xperia Z4 might have just cleared the FCC’s exhaustive testing procedures.
According to Phone Arena, the FCC has apparently approved an upcoming Sony handset tied to code name “PM-0780” and it is believed to be the Sony Xperia Z4. Even though, not much information has been revealed about the device in question, the PM-0780 reportedly supports a wide range of LTE bands. And more importantly, the device comes with a non-removable battery unit. To top it off, a total of six different version of the same device has apparently been listed.
And it is worth noting that, the hardware configurations are reportedly the same in each variant. However, the difference apparently comes in the form of cellular radio configuration in order to be compatible with various networks pertaining to different carriers and regions.
Speaking of size, the alleged Xperia Z4 handset reportedly measures (73 by 146 mm) i.e. (2.87 by 5.75 inch). This measurement seemingly proves that the device in focus is similar to the size of the predecessor Xperia Z3. And moreover, the dimensions are apparently well in line with the rumoured Sony Xperia Z4’s width and height measurement.
On the other hand, the FCC documents have reportedly confirmed the existence of a microSD card slot on the Sony PM-0780. It is worth reminding that, earlier rumours pointed out saying, Sony will be dropping the expandable memory option. And in the recent past, OEMs like Samsung has given up on the microSD card slot on its flagship Galaxy S6 for more sophisticated design. Meanwhile, the software configuration has also been confirmed and the Xperia Z4 will apparently run on Android build number 26.1.A.0.79.
Phone Arena say, even though, Sony has not confirmed the model number PM-0780 to be the Xperia Z4, the listed configurations point to the obvious. In any case, readers should note that, Sony has not confirmed the Xperia Z4 specifications and features either.
