Allison Baden-Clay: Her Life Before and After Marriage to Gerard (Photos and Video)

Allison Baden-Clay, 41, left three young girls behind when she was murdered two months ago. Her husband Gerard was arrested on Wednesday, nearly two months before he reported her missing on April 20.

Allison: From ballerina to corporate manager

The young Allison was a talented ballerina who was with the Australian Youth ballet. She has travelled around Australia and the UK with the young ballet group. She spoke six languages.

At work, Allison worked the corporate ladder from being a sales assistant to human resources manager at the national level at Flight Centre.

Meeting Gerard at Work

Gerard also worked at Flight Centre as a consultant at the Toombul store. Allison was the head of a Flight Centre branch in Ipswich at the time. They met, got involved, and got married in 1997.

After the marriage, the Baden-Clays had three young children. Allison chose family over career and left her job. The newlyweds settled in London for about a year before returning to Brisbane for a new chapter.

Upon settling in Brisbane, Gerard established a real estate office in Taringa, a Century 21 franchise.

It is understood that Allison did not play an active role at Gerard's workplace.

Gerard Meets a Woman at Work... Again

Gerard, a great-grandson of Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scout movement, had an affair with Century 21 saleswoman Toni McHugh. Allison found this out last year, and McHugh left the real estate office.

McHugh has been interviewed by the authorities following the discovery of Allison's body under the Kholo Creek bridge on April 30.

The affair was believed to have ended last year, but it was revealed to be ongoing at the course of the investigation.

Gerard Baden-Clay's DNA to be examined

The Brisbane Magistrates Court yesterday granted the prosecution's request to obtain DNA sample from Gerard.

Mr Baden Clay has appeared yesterday at the court, and was remanded in custody until the July 9 hearing. His legal team's application for bail will be heard on Thursday.

"He is devastated and his intention is clearly to defend the charge vigorously," Darren Mahony, Gerard's counsel, told the media on Wednesday.

The three young Baden-Clay daughters are now under the care of Allison's parents, Nigel and Elaine Dickies.

During the well-attended funeral for Allison on May 11, attendees were requested to donate for the three children's welfare in lieu of flowers.
