Alyssa Milano was displeased that London’s Heathrow Airport confiscated her pumped breast milk at security. The “Charmed” actress took to her Twitter page to share her incredulity over the tight security rules on liquids, particularly breast milk.

The TV actress used her Twitter account to blast the London Heathrow Airport for confiscating bottles of her breast milk. While the airport was just adhering to security measures, the actress shared that what she experienced made no sense at all. She complained that she lost 10 ounces of milk that she pumped just like that. She added that airport security told her that her pumped milk would only be allowed through if she had her baby with her, a rule she said is senseless because she would not need to pump had she had her baby with her.

The actress found the whole incident more bizarre because the other liquids she had with her such as shampoo and lotion were allowed, but her precious breast milk was just discarded without discussion. She said the other liquids were just tested and then handed back without further problems, but her milk was not even tested and just tossed away. To add to her frustration and confusion, the actress added that as she passed through security, she had to pump for breast milk again.

Alyssa's tweets earned mixed reactions. Some said the airport does not know the plight of pumping women, since getting significant amount of breast milk can really be difficult. Some, however, said that actresses should not be above the security rules.

A representative for Heathrow Airport tweeted Milano and addressed her complaints, saying they did not want to personally make her life difficult, but that they were just following rules set forth by the government.

After the said incident, ABC news reported that a rep from Milano’s camp clarified that the actress does not blame the airport for anything that transpired, especially since she knows that the employees were just following rules. However, she wished that the incident can lead to some changes in the security rules in the future after “thoughtful reconsideration.” The actress is known as a staunch supporter of breastfeeding as she constantly uploads pictures of her carrying out the practice. She once said she enjoys watching her baby, Elizabella Dylan, suckling.
