Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande are both 20 years old (Miley just turned 21 a day ago on Saturday) and both are talented singers. While Ariana is termed as the next Mariah Carey, we still see Miley Cyrus more in news than her. Both the artists gave a live performance at the 2013 American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening. Miley performed on the "Wrecking Ball" and Ariana on "Tattooed Heart."

Ariana Grande won the hearts of the people and even an award for the Best New Artist Of The Year at the 41st AMA's. The singer came dressed in a glamorous and stylish Dolce and Gabanna sparkly red gown for the red carpet and wowed the audience. She stood up in all confidence when she took stage and performed wonderfully on her song "Tattooed Heart" without any props or fancy dancing artists. Ariana just stood there on the stage, held the microphone wearing the same dress she did on red carpet, and gave her heart and soul to her spell-bounding performance. On the contrary, Miley Cyrus came dressed in a pristine white suit, wore no bra as she arrived at the red carpet and posed for pictures along with her dad. The "We Can't Stop" singer was dressed rather conservatively considering her previous choice of clothes. Let's talk about her performance now. Miley took the stage alone dressed in a racy two-piece which had the motives of cats. The singer was accompanied by a lip-synching cat on the projection screen, which could be there to divert her fans' attention from her singing.

Miley's voice was shaky and not up to the mark when she performed on the high pitched song "Wrecking Ball." It definitely did not sound as nice as it does on the original ( or should be say computerised version) version which became the number 1 watched video on YouTube as Miley was seen swinging naked on the iron ball. While Ariana is all about projecting her talent, it would not be wrong to say that Miley's talent has taken a second place as she keeps her focus on nudity and doing controversial stuff. It's high time that Miley should learn from Ariana and see how one can garner respect for their talent without getting naked.
