Amal Clooney Brings Business Chic To Work, Later Rocks 70s Style
After taking New York by storm, Amal Clooney has taken her style to the country’s national capital, Washington DC. The 37-year-old human rights lawyer held a press conference in the capital urging for the release of former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed. She appeared before reporters at the National Press Club on April 30 accompanied by Laila Ali, the wife of the jailed politician, and Jared Genser, the founder of organization Freedom Now, according to People.
Nasheed, the Indian Ocean archipelago’s first democratically elected president was convicted under tough anti-terror laws last month and sentenced to 13 years in prison. Amal addressed the National Press Club Newsmaker Program and is defending the former president. The lawyer has several high profile cases to her credit. Apart from being an international human rights lawyer, she has made a mark as a fashion icon after she married Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney.
The British-Lebanese lawyer brought in some formal chic style to work. She was dressed in a sleek navy blue pant suit. She paired her single buttoned suit with a white top. Amal paired her outfit with navy pointy toe high heel pumps by Jimmy Choo and Dolce and Gabbana lemon printed silk satin scarf. The lawyer who is observed the world over for her sense of style carried a grey tote bag and covered her eyes with Prada Havana sunglasses.
Back to New York on May 1, she was seen out and about in the city in two ensembles. In the afternoon she was seen coming out of Jean-Georges Restaurant after a business lunch with her colleagues. The 37-year-old British worked business chic in a two-toned overcoat worn over a black dress. Amal donned a navy and white coloured coat cinched at the waist with a colour coordinated belt. She added height to her slender frame in a pair of white strappy high heel sandals and covered her eyes with brown cat eye sunglasses.
In the evening she was spotted with her parents at the Public Theater in a white lace mini dress and brown suede coat, channelling the 1970s. She paired her outfit with white strappy high heels and carried a brown box clutch. Her long hair was styled in her favourite glossy blowout. Her dad looked Ramzi Alamuddin looked dapped in a suit and tie, while her mum Baria opted for a lacy white jacket paired with black trousers and matching top.
