Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 Tablet’s Successor With Snapdragon 805 Processor Likely Sighted in AnTuTu Benchmark Testing

The Amazon Fire Phone did not achieve much popularity and now the company has announced seven new tablets, which includes 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX, Kindle Fire HD 6, Kindle Fire HD 7, Kindle Fire HD 6 Kids Edition, Kindle Fire HD 7 Kids Edition, Kindle Voyage e-reader and another low-end e-reader

Among the seven, the most powerful one is the new Kindle Fire HDX, the flagship tablet, which comes with 8.9-inch display. It is slimmer and faster than the predecessor model and is now available for pre-order. Amazon will be shipping the Kindle Fire HDX to its customers on Oct 21.

According to GSMAerna, the Kindle Fire HDX measures 231 x 158 x 7.8 mm and weighs 375 grams. It features Snapdragon 805 processor, which delivers 2.5 GHz speed along with Adreno 420 graphics and 2 GB RAM. By this, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX becomes the first ever tablet to feature the Snapdragon 805 chipset. It is available in storage options like 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB.

The 8.9-inch display supports 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution with 339ppi. There is 8MP camera at the rear and there is front-facing camera too. The tablet will be also available in 4G LTE edition. The tablet is powered by Android-based Fire OS 4 Sangria.

The base model of 16 GB is priced at $379. It comes with 8.8 GB of space exclusively available for the user. The 64 GB model and LTE connectivity is priced at $594. It does not feature any ads from Amazon.

The tablet is enabled with Dynamic Light Control technology, which will not strain the eyes of the user while reading content on its display. The onscreen pages would resemble like traditional pages in any lighting conditions.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX is the first ever tablet come equipped with Dolby Atmos audio system. It delivers stunning 360-degree sound experience through earphones. NBC news reports that Amazon claims that the stereo speakers are as powerful as the ones fitted on iPad Air.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX tablet also supports accessories like Origami Case, which can be availed for $54.99 and Fire Keyboard, which can be purchased for $59.99.
