Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 Tablet’s Successor With Snapdragon 805 Processor Likely Sighted in AnTuTu Benchmark Testing

Amazon announces the all new 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX tablet, which becomes the first ever tablet to feature Snapdragon 805 chipset. Along with it, Amazon also announces arrival of six other tablets that includes Kindle Fire HD 6 and Kindle Fire HD 7.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 6

As the name goes, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 6 is a 6-inch tablet. The 8 GB version of the tablet is available for $99 (AU$110), whereas the 16 GB version of the tablet is priced at $119 (AU$132). It is available in five bright colours. The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 6 is available on pre-order now and the official release date is Oct. 2.

The Kindle Fire HD 6 measures 169 x 103 x 10.7 mm and weighs 290 grams. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor that is coupled with 1 GB RAM. The 6-inch HD display screen supports a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and offers 252 ppi.

The 6-inch Kindle Fire HD features 2 MP camera that supports 1,080p video shooting at the rear. On the front, there is a 0.3 MP VGA camera. On the connectivity front, it features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and microUSB v2.0 and SlimPort. It runs on the latest Android-flavored Fire OS 4.0

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7

The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 is the new 7-inch slate from Amazon that is available in two storage variants of 8 GB and 16 GB. The 8 GB edition is priced at $139 (AU$155), whereas the 16 GB edition comes with a price tag of $159 (AU$177). Like the 6-inch Fire HD, even this one comes in five vibrant colours.

The 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire HD measures 191 x 128 x 10.6 mm and weighs 337 grams. The 7-inch HD display supports a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels along with 216 ppi.

Like the 6-inch edition, even the 7-inch slate is powered with 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM. Most of the other specifications are same as the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 6.

The tablet can be pre-ordered now. The official Kindle Fire HD 7 release date is Oct 2. Amazon has also announced Kids Edition of both Kindle Fire HD 6 and Kindle HD 7 tablets along with two e-reader tablets.
