Amazon Fire Phone vs. LG G3: Price and Specs Comparison in Australia
South Korean multinational conglomerate company LG Corporation unveiled its new flagship phone LG G3 in five key cities around the world earlier this month. But within a month Amazon rolled out its first attempt with the smartphone through the Amazon Fire Phone which is aimed to compete with the existing smart phones in the market. So how does Amazon Fire Phone fare against the LG G3?
Price
In terms of price, Amazon Fire Phone is over a hundred dollars cheaper compared with LG G3. According to the LG Australia Web, LG G3 is posted for AU$799 while Time Magazine mentioned that Amazon Fire Phone costs only AU$660 with a no contract plan at AT&T.
Display
In terms of display, LG G3 has bigger and better display compared with Amazon Fire Phone. LG Australia Web site also cited that LG G3 has a 5.5-inch quad high definition display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution that is the same as high-end gamming monitor. It also has a whopping 534 pixels per inches screen resolution.
According to Digital Trends, Amazon Fire Phone only has 4.7-inch high quality LCD display, with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 with an image density of 315 pixels per inches (ppi).
Operating Systems
When it comes to operating systems, the two smart phones run on totally different systems. Digital Trends mentioned that Amazon Fire Phone runs on Fire OS 3.5.0 while LG G3 runs on Android operating system version 4.4.2 KitKat.
Processors
Both Amazon Fire Phone and LG G3 have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon processors with a slightly different specs. According to the above-cited source, Amazon Fire Phone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. While LG Australia mentioned that LG G3 has Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz.
Camera
Both Amazon Fire Phone and LG G3 also have the same camera specs of 13-megapixel for the primary camera. However, LG G3 still has a secondary camera with 2.1-megapixel. On the other hand, Amazon Fire Phone has f/2.0 lens with optical image stabilization, panorama, burst, and action shots and unlimited photo storage on its primary phone.
Memory
Both Amazon Fire Phone and LG G3 also have the same memory specs. Digital Trends cited that Amazon Fire Phone has 2GB RAM and an internal memory of either 32 GB or 64GB. It also has an added 5GB of extra free space via the Amazon Cloud Drive. LG Australia also mentioned that the 16 GB model of LG G3 has 2 GB of RAM and the 32 GB model has 3 GB of RAM which can be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD slot.
Others Specs
According to Digital Trends, users who bought the Amazon Fire Phone can choose from 33 million titles of music, movies, and TV shows with the included12-month membership to its prime service. The smart phone's camera also scans for books, DVDs, phone numbers, QR codes, CDs, games, and all other kinds of media. Then it searches for the product in the Amazon database and finds a version that users can buy from the online shopping Web site. There is also a 3D effect specs included which allows users to view any image, map or Web content in a different way.
Meanwhile, LG G3 has Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, and LTE-Advanced capabilities. It also have built-in accelerometer which will help smart phone users track their body's tilt and motion.
